We have been "killing" the planet for thousands of years now and will continue to "kill" the planet for thousands of more years.

Holy crap. How many more of these predictions must we endure before folks see them as pure poppycock?

Beto said we only have 10 left recently. I laughed. My wife laughed. The dogs looked amused.

    Good times.

Like, that like depends. Like, if it's AOC saying it, it's like like.

Like, if like Beto is like saying it, it's like, not so much like.

When she said 12 years I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe.

So bug-eyed crazy specific I almost fell out of my chair laughing.

To start, I do hate seeing forests replaced with parking lots and oceans polluted. Being one who enjoys nature far more than urbania, I would see the wilds preserved and the environment kept healthy for life.

However, there are a great many people who need food and shelter. I support earnest attempts at renewable energy and sustainable living, but I see much of it being used as a means to control and oppress people, which I oppose as strongly as I support environmentalism.

When you say 'save the planet', what do you mean? The earth has gone through mass extinctions before, but its still here and teeming with life, as it surely will again long after humans. What onus is there on us to 'save it'? Are you suggesting we could ever destroy it to the point that life would end? Who are we saving it for, if not us?

    Spot on.

There is a fine balance between reducing human impact on the Earth, and sustaining the existing Humans. We all can do the basic eco-minded things, without government involvement, taxation, or the verbal whip some like to apply on the subject.

It's probably for the best ... symbols of white supremacy. Domestic poultry too. Ever notice it's the "white" turkey's who get presidential pardons? Institutional racism. And what's with the WH Easter Bunny? White rabbit, "cotton" tail? :steamed:

Well, Africa gives us nothing but viruses and hurricanes. Let’s wipe out Africa. And Asia is grossly overpopulated. Let’s eradicate Asia.

That should leave us with a sustainable world population.

Here is the problem with the whole "man-made climate change" issue:

The average person gets up every morning, makes breakfast, goes to work, comes home, goes to bed, and repeat this almost every day. We are constantly bombarded with claims of "doom" that the average person does not see. We see claims that never materialize. We look outside and see the same weather we have seen all our lives.

We are told that man-made climate change is the reason for wild fires....yet the average person sees that our forests are not being managed anymore because of environmental extremists that have blocked that forest management. The forest floor of many of our forests are littered with tinder that was not there 20-30 years ago.

We are told that the oceans will rise in 5...10....15 years that will cause islands and coastline to disappear....and it does not happen.

We are told that man-made climate change is causing an increase in tornadoes and hurricanes....yet people remember the time before the threat of climate change where we had tornadoes and hurricanes that were just as destructive and just as frequent.

We are told our winters will become harsher and our summers longer.....yet people see that there is nothing different from what they experienced 30-50 years ago.

We are shown pictures of polar bears on ice flows (though polar bears can swim) and are told the polar bears will soon become extinct in 5 yeas....yet polar bears population are stable and still exist after that 5 years.

We are told that vast numbers of species will soon become extinct....yet we seldom see that materialize. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we were told that logging would make the Spotted Owl become extinct....yet the population was rather solid once studies were conducted. However, logging was curtailed (greatly decreasing forest management....which increase wild fires). When this was pointed out to the environmental extremists, we were told that the Spotted Owl was just symbolic and other animal species would be used to stop logging if the Spotted Owl argument as not longer valid.

We are told that all of these doom and gloom predictions will come true based on a computer simulation that reaches it's conclusions based on programming written by the same people predicting the doom and gloom (GIGO).

Basically, we are being painted a picture of doom and gloom that the average person does not see.....and now the only real practical solution being offered is for the Government to reach deeper into our pockets via taxes, or passed on taxes, in order to pay for a problem that many do not see in their daily lives.

The first step should be to halt ALL immigration to the USA. The ones who come here breed like rats. It's overpopulation that is harming the planet. Glad you brought this to everyone's attention.
