Trump is a hero. He served in the military and as a statesman.

When Congress voted on a trash health care bill that would cause premiums to rise 20 % and 15 million Americans to lose their healthcare he stood up for what was right !

    You should be ashamed !!!

I think you made a mistake. Trump is no hero. He never served in the military. You surely meant to say McCain.

By the way, I agree with you. You'd think that poster would be ashamed of himself, but he's a Trump fan. They don't have any shame.

    I never took that seriously

But I do expect him to build the wall as promised and I think he will not be able to if he caves on the "dreamers" first

This is a hard distinction to put into words but I will try.

Everyone says they don't want someone married to an ideology and I agree that we don't want an ideologue who by definition, only sees things through their ideological glasses. But that does not mean we should want someone without an ideology at all. An ideological view, offers us a sense of a consistent vision through which our leader sees the problems of the day first, and that leads to a consistent direction in our policy over four years or eight. if half the time, he is going one direction, and half the time he is undermining his own momentum going backwards, we end up nowhere at all. Now, we also want our leader to able and willing to take off those ideological glasses so that he sees problems from a moral and pragmatic approach as well as an ideological one. Consistency in direction is a value in policy-making and it is important, but it cannot be the only value in policy making. We have to know that those lenses are not bolted into his skull.

It was just brought to my attention that this might be all part of his plan to get Congress to pass the wall and border security and other immigration policies that he campaigned on. Because basically Congress is being blown up right now with calls telling them not to pass DACA thousands if not millions of people are just calling Congress like crazy so they're not going to pass DACA they're too afraid. But in the meantime while they're negotiating Trump will get some of the stuff he wants and then they'll probably settling allowing the best of the best of the dreamers to stay which is still horrible but I'll allow it if we get everything else that he campaigned on. That's the theory anyways and for now I'll cautiously buy it.

False alarm folks nothing to see here back on the MAGA train.

I was fed up with the guy when he became president, and still refused to do nothing to protect his supporters from the feral left. They were being hunted down in the street by packs, and still are, yet he does nothing.

Still no wall which means there will never be a wall if Trump has his way. Still obamacare, which means it's there forever. Still mexicans and muslims filling the place up, so they'll eventually take over the place. Still borrowing and spending, still in stupid wars, and democrats own him.

I know he's done some fairly good things, but the important things he was elected to accomplish were just lies.

Were the democrats right? In a way, yes. He lied his way into the white house, and doesn't seem to care at all that everybody now knows it.

I would go along with legalizing the DACA folks if I actually got something out of it, mainly the RAISE Act and funding for the wall. Trump has the whip hand on this since Senator Cotton is marrying his RAISE Act to some sort of DACA legalization, and do the Democrats really want to vote against a DACA legalization? The kiddies? The fly in the ointment, as always, seems to be the open borders lobby Republicans, who would love to send to a clean DACA legalization to Trump's desk with no wall funding and increases in H-1B visas.

Except he hasn't used any leverage at all since getting into office. When Obama was President, he refused to sign off on anything that wasn't exactly what he wanted, and he got it! At least that guy knew how to get stuff done. Trump caves on everything, and gets nothing in return.

I guarantee you, he won't get funding for his wall, and he will sign off on an immigration bill that will open the borders up to every muslim and south american that sends in a request for citizenship. In three years, he'll have been such a massive failure on every conceivable front that he won't even bother trying to run for a second term. Even he doesn't have the cojones for that. Or maybe he does, and his campaign slogan will be "I'm with him!" after he switches to the democratic party.

The most obvious was in 2013 when he wanted his budget funded, and the republicans refused to raise the debt limit. Obama, instead of pushing for a balanced budget just said to hell with it, and let the government shut down, and then turned around and blamed the republicans for it.

Say what you will about Obama, but he was willing to do whatever it took to get what he wanted, and the republicans gave up each and every time, even though they held the purse strings.

He said every thing the fools wanted to hear.

I fell for it under Obama's 1st campaign.

But now trump is working with moderates.

Best for most. Not the fringe loonies.

It may be that President Trump has learned what every President appears to have accepted since the Kennedys. Presidents are not in charge. Presidents do what they are told or will be made subject to assassination or impeachment.

That's the problem with politicians on the campaign trail, and particularly problematic for republicans because the politicians are expected to abide by the constitution and to reduce government and government spending. This is like hiring somebody to cure cancer with the expectation that they'll actually work towards curing cancer.

There's no incentive to work your way out of a job, so that job will always be there. In fact, they'll lie, cheat, and steal to do everything in their power to NOT find a cure for cancer.
