Curious to see how much their profits drop. Think it will hit the 30% range like Olive Gardens?

Bet the drop, if any at all, wont be noticable. People in america wont start making their own lunches to send a message, we're too lazy for that.

Clue: Every restaurants' "profits drop" in the six-eight weeks following Christmas=slowest time of the year, typically.

Wait until after Valentine's Day before trying to draw any conclusions...or even summer's end....

Well history has said that people do notice, and it was a big enough drop to force the parent company of Olive Garden et al to switch courses. But hey, I don't mind waiting to see what happens.

No one should have to work at Wendy's with the wages they pay to exploit the under classes, so it is a good thing when they cut jobs.

It will also help the immigration debate, we will need more illegal Mexicans to take those jobs when they lower wages to compensate for Obamacare further.

This is the same company that has fought minimum wage laws, as if the minimum wage was too much to pay.

I'm not exactly a fan of the ACA, but I really have no sympathy for this company.

Hmmm, I seem to remember Darden (the company that owns olive garden, red lobster, etc) following right along with Moochelle's quest to force restaurants to reduce their sodium and fat content. Remember that? If not, here:

    http://www.redorbit.com/news/health...urants-joins-michelle-obama-to-improve-menus/

Amazing how liberalism destroys absolutely everything it touches isn't it? I wouldn't worry about Wendy's profits dropping like Dardens, unless they start sucking Moochelle's fat ass too.

On the other hand the backlash on Chik FilA didn't really happen as some feared. But as you say we'll wait and see.

The people who are going to feel this are the workers, and it sucks for them. Their paychecks are going to be smaller already from the expiration of that SS Tax cut...and now the hours cut, additionally the cost of either a fine for not having healthcare or the Healthcare they now have to buy elsewhere. With all the people out of work right now, I don't think Wendys will feel it too badly, they shouldn't have much trouble finding some part time workers to fill the gaps in those shifts that this reduction will cause.

So maybe we should thank Obama care for saving, and creating some new part time jobs.

They ARE people. They just don't share your motivations to spend THEIR money.

I went to Wendy's for lunch today, mostly because of this thread. It isn't Wendy's fault for pointing out the obvious, that Democrats passed an ill-conceived and poorly written law. Wendy's is just on the vanguard of a whole lot of companies that will do the exact same thing in the near future.

Yes, cause trying to get people to lead healthier lives is very destructive. right.

Yeah, it sucks when a company would rather have sick employees who bring down production by bringing their sickness to the resturant because they can't afford health care nor can they take a sick day off. Honestly, I have no problem paying a little extra for my food to see that everyone gets access to affordable health care. But I guess that takes a bit more long-sightedness then Wendy's currently employs.

I disagree. Companies are not people. They are organizations comprised of people. No one will ever convince me otherwise. And in the long run, its more cost-effective to have healthy employees then unhealthy ones. And much more cost effective to have a set of loyal employees then a revolving door of part timers who could give a crap about the company and the quality served to customers. Its just bad business all around.

Wendy's is making cuts because it does not want to pay for health care for its employees, and wants to continue to exploit them with minimum wages that aren't enough to be living wages and provide a good quality of life for its employees.

As much as I'd like to boycott them however, I'm addicted to their unhealthy food so something must be done about this in government.

All of your arguments are based off logic fallacy. Such as , appeal to emotion and strawman. Don't like Wendy's ? Don't work for them it's a free country ( I think) ...
