Nice. It's funny-- the other cover tune of theirs, "Cocaine & Whiskey," I liked only up until the singing began, but this one puts together all the right ingredients-- from the slow but sure gravity of the chord progression and accompanying rhythm, to the texture of the vocal, to the video itself, which has just the right proportion of grittiness, in its sleekly edited, restricted color imagery-- so that every part adds to the effect of the others. I really like the way the symbolism, though it is just beneath the surface, nevertheless comes as a revelation, that the Black Magic Lady is a description that fits the heroine, to which the woman is addicted. Deftly filmed and designed, and really evocative-- from one who is seldom impressed with the video portion of a music video.

    Good song.

Friday night is music night....:)......I keep listening to this lass....

First came across Kelly Sweet under here aka Haliene when she did a track with Gareth Emery for the UK anti-bulling charity upload_2023-8-25_22-22-0.png it was called Saving Light.... I think this is pretty powerful combination of song and video...?

Wow, that just keeps building, for the entire song.

I had been unconsciously scribbling, while listening to the new songs people are offering, and I do have one issue of concern: now that I finally reached your Globus video, at the end of the road, I notice that my page of doodling, precisely matches the script, on this album cover (though I do not know Latin). So I'd kind of like, if this group was singing about a day at the beach, or a pleasant picnic, for you to please tell me that, so that I don't, this evening, wind up using a hand mirror in front of my bathroom wall mirror, looking for any birthmarks on my scalp, resembling numbers.

...it is a cracking bit of music isn't it...its reminiscent of Carmina Burana ....I've a really weird playlist that this comes from...bearing in mind I'm really an Iron maiden freak....it goes with a bunch of French guys, Ensemble Organum who have resurrected a lot of medieval latin chant.... I love it....

Fine pipes. And notably good purity of tone.

Peas were an acquired taste for me.

Interesting story of your history and being written about in a song by Marty Robbins.

Me? Some artists have written about me with songs like Simple Man, Night Moves, Turn the Page, etc.....

    Then there's this one:

I never cared much for Bowie, but that "Rebel Rebel" cover is awesome. She puts some soul into that.

At about the 2:37 mark--is that an orgasm? It makes me breathe fast.

Bowie's one of those artists that I think people appreciate more as they age. in HS it was Led Zeppelin and Jethro Tull, etc, then the Clash and Grateful Dead. Bowie didn't get much airplay but with youtube and satellite radio I heard lots of stuff that I was never exposed to years ago. Like this gem- I believe he was 17 when he first put this song out

Wow. Never heard that before. I like it. Reminds me a bit of Neil Young with some of that Delta stuff at the beginning--but I am almost deaf.

I listened to another version he did. Doesn't sound quite the same.

the first version I heard was when he was around 19 or 20. some versions were a few years before he passed. so changes were obvious. It's sort of like this:
