We seem to put too much authority in the president. His job is to execute the laws that Congress legislates, by more and more it's like we expect Congress to do the bidding of the Executive. If things were truly in a state of separated powers, we wouldn't be so focused on the president.

Brookings is a moderate source :

Instead of dismissing the source because it's outside your right wing bubble, try to refute just one point made in the article. Just one, I dare you.

    I rarely read the HuffPo.

Are you even capable of posting a civil reply?

The current GOP-heavy Senate has been doing this presiden't bidding from the beginning, with zero regard for their own honor. It seems they have none. They sold their collective souls for the sake of conservative justices and a tax break for corporations, in whose pockets they all seem to sit.

The consequences look to be coming for some of them. Don't be surprised if the Dems take the Senate in this backlash.

He's a germaphobe, and the great outdoors is dirty and full of bugs. Not everyone is into camping or hiking. Can you even picture Trump doing either of those things?

In that case you branded yourself as very hard core leftist.

Here is what you do not have that Trump owns.
*A 58 story building in Manhattan with a 10,000 sq ft home for himself and his family at the top. It is 3 stories tall. A huge part of the building is rented commercial.
*A luxury commercial jet style airplane that is very customized.
*And he lives at the White House.

When you do even one of those things, worry then if Trump camps out or not.

It's hard to dispute your post after living with the likes of Mitch McConnell for the past decade. :(

Reid did Obama's bidding daily when he was there. Suddenly now you want the Senate not to work with the president? Based on what?
Corporations are the drivers of this nation's economy. Rip them off as Democrats have long done and they move to China, Japan and Korea for openers. Recall when they moved to Ireland? Who chased them off of our lands?

McConnell has only led the Senate for the past 5 years. Democrat Tip O'Neil ran the Senate for 10 years so McConnell has a lot of catching up to do.

The Senate Majority and Minority leaders are recent additions to Senate leadership.
From 1933 to 1947, only Democrats were the leader.
    47-49 a Republican was elected.
    49-53 Democrat was the leader
    53-55 Republican was leader
    55-81 Democrat was leader
    81-87 Republican was leader
    87-95 Democrat was leader
    95-2001 Republican again
    01-03 Democrat
    03-07 Republican
    07-15 Democrat again
    15- now Republican

    Democrats 62 =years
    Republicans 25= years

So you can tell who has the longest time to inflict the most damage to America

How to describe the duty of president
After all the gnashing of teeth and the hurling of invectives is over at the two houses, presidents get to sign laws or veto laws.
EOs are confined to the management of the only Branch presidents run to wit the Executive Branch and it's employees.

5 years of Mitch who is not actually the head of the Senate, but the party leader with the most members, but this nation has endured since 1933- 62 years of mismanagement by Democrats.25 years of the Republicans.

The summation of "damage" isn't dependent on time, but who is doing the destruction. And in that, McConnell wins. That's my concern.

Actually it is directly dependent on time in office. Democrats far and away do the most damage. Mitch still has the Democrats of the house as blockers.

Say if you hate Freedom, stick to voting for Democrats.

You have a large selection one liners to use against your chosen enemy, Democrats. But how many are actually true. I'm a Democrat & I'm having trouble relating to anything you're claiming I & others like me are doing to damage America. Your posts make you appear as an extremist, like Trump. Are you?

Democrats are not democrats just for the fun of it. They want laws, rules and regulations to be created. And even then they are not pleased. They have created rules, laws and regulations since 1933 and there is no sign they are letting up. Nancy tells us she has 400 more laws waiting to pass the Senate.

So I have a lot more years on this planet than you have. I spent decades like you, a very loyal democrat. It took years to discover my errors. I urge you to look at your own errors.

My extreme nature is freedom. I do not mean say the word, I mean craft laws for maximum freedom. I bet that pisses off Democrats. They attack me all the time for some reason.

Again, refute any of the facts presented.

You can't, can you? You can only whine about the source and accuse the messenger of being "hard core."

They only thing that I am hard core about are facts. I gave you those, you can't find anything on your own biased souces to refute them, so you lash out.

How is that relevant to the exchange I was having? I don't care that he doesn't go camping. It wasn't a criticism, lots of people are not outdoorsy. But here you are with your boxers all in a bunch, defending something that does not require a defense.

    Not who, what.

Corporate America got greedy, and that's why they moved their manufacturing overseas where labor was cheap and unions non-existent. They make all of their money off the backs of taxpaying consumers, but heav3n f I rbid that they should pay us living wages if they don't have to. It wasn't taxes, it was paying labor at $15 per hour vs $5 per day. Or less.

Reminds me of the wives of chaste men who fear prostitution.

My what is in a bunch?

To engage in conversations means one works to try to assemble a collage of words to fit patterns seen among others.

You certainly are thin skinned at the least or wildly extra sensitive at the most.

Is that your purpose of life, to refute?

    How predictable.

You can't hold your own on the issues here, so you just keep lashing out with attacks against those who challenge you. Is that your purpose?

If you simply have nothing intelligent and relevant to say, and either can't or won't challenge the facts presented to you, why are you even here?

    I'm done with you.
