no we celebrate reductions in murders, like in NYC which had less than 300 murders last a year.

a huge success for good police strategy, good gun laws and vigilant DAs.

sure you do and gun control has nothing to do with that. NYC was a cesspool of murders when it had idiotic gun control. the change was proactive policing-not idiocy like ten round magazine limits or recent additions to the moronic NYC gun laws

our gun laws got stronger since 1992 and that helped reduce murders.

before 1994 there was no assault weapons ban in NYC, for example.

What new gun laws were responsible for the reduction in the number of fun deaths fromm 2200 to 300? How did those strict NYC laws allow homicides to get to 2200?

that sort of is the neutron bomb on that silly claim that gun laws made NYC safer when they had idiotic gun restrictions when it was a murder capital.

and almost none of the murders in NYC involved assault weapons so that is a worthless claim.

handguns were and continue to be the main tool for homicides.

its based on the fraudulent insinuation that "assault weapons" were somehow being used in a substantial number of murders. that of course is false.
They could have banned unicorns and I suspect he would claim that was responsible for the lack of people being gored to death

What would you do if something costs 425,000 deaths per year in America?

It takes time for gun laws to take effect. NYC is one of the safest large cities on the planet

The studies presented are not science, they are guesswork at best. They claim something may be possible, but that is not proof of anything.

The state of New York was never subjected to a significant amount of crime that utilized the criminal use of rifles to begin with, so it reduced nothing.

Do you think that the AWB had a significant effect on homicides in New York? Do you have an explanation why the number 9f homicides by rifle continued to decline in all states after the end of the AWB in 2004, when there were 393 homicides by rifle. Ten years later that number was down to 254, with millions more 'assault weapons' in the hands of citizens.

Besides, you claimed that the AWB had a significant effect on dropping NY gun deaths from 2200 to 300. YOU provide the proof.

It is fact, before Registry of so called "Assault Weapons" N.Y.C. had very little crime involving so-called Assault weapons, the subsequent ban was entirely a Political move and conspiracy with the Police Chiefs Association and then N.Y.C. Mayor.

Since purchasing any long gun in N.Y.C. already required an N.Y.P.D. issued permit, there was no improvement.

Claiming that Action A may potentially lead to Outcome B, and leaving it at that, is not an example of science. Causation is not correlation.

Science does not stop at making a claim that something may be possible, and leaving it up to the interpretation of the public to determine whether or not the claim is valid and proven.

Yet every time you want to support you gun control agenda, you invoke studies you refer to as science.

Reminds me of the LW that vilify the police the tell the gun rights folks they should trust them with their security. Or, those that insist the rights guaranteed by the Constitution are outdated constructs of an earlier time but when convienient insist on being sheltered by the. All, arguements of convienance rather than solid principle or truth.
