I think it was Hitler's Minister of Propaganda { Joseph Goebbels } whose credited with that thought. " If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it,people will eventually come to believe it. " - - - Updated - - - Never to be confused or conflated with the non-original version, eh Dr.Watson.
No, it just goes to show that these online IQ tests are not reliable. They are incomplete. - - - Updated - - - I say math or mathematics. Is that really an important issue for you? - - - Updated - - - Wow! Are you trying to be funny here, because that was just rude and completely uncalled for and mean.
If he had any common decency, he'd know his comment was unnecessary and ugly. I noticed he's been scrolling thru, correcting others spelling, etc....even asking why you said 'math' instead of 'mathematics'....wow....hearing someone say 'math' is a real mind-blower, isn't it? I hope he's recovered by now.........
Yeah, some people are always craving attention and they don't care if it's negative, just so it's attention...... IIRC, he's from England and generally I've always liked the Brits b/c they're a funny bunch of people and have the craziest expressions.....for instance, a Brit will say "keep your pecker up" to a friend who's having a bad day......
Never noticed and that I don't think is funny, but to tell a friend who's going thru a gloom and doom day to 'keep your pecker up" I think is hilarious. I have no patience for nit-pickers....as my friends/neighbors have quickly found out......
The false Goebbels quotation above is actually a take-off on Hitler's familiar statement in Mein Kampf, which is often misunderstood. Hitler stated: “In this they [the Jews] proceeded on the sound principle that the magnitude of a lie always contains a certain factor of credibility, since the great masses of the people in the very bottom of their hearts tend to be corrupted rather than consciously and purposely evil, and that, therefore, in view of the primitive simplicity of their minds, they more easily fall victim to a big lie than to a little one, since they themselves lie in little things, but would be ashamed of lies that were too big. Such a falsehood will never enter their heads, and they will not be able to believe in the possibility of such monstrous effrontery and infamous misrepresentation in others.…” (p. 231 of the Manheim translation) Hitler is accusing the Jews the Vienna press of this strategy. It is often taken as evidence that Hitler advocated the “Big Lie.” He is, in fact, accusing his enemies of lying.
IIRC, the "F" word originated from the Brits, standing for "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge"........ If you ever want to read a hilarious story, check out a town in Austria, the name of it is the "F" word.....I would not live there anymore than I'd live in Intercourse, Pennsylvania.....lol........
Sorry Charlie, that is a direct quote. Like ... " Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play." " Intellectual activity is a danger to the building of character. " " Faith moves mountains, but only knowledge moves them to the right place. "
From a psychological perspective the evidence that IQ is simply an invented number based on an invented an oriented measurement is that it cannot be negative. In math negative numbers exist, measurement systems use them [a part absolute systems]. So IQ tests sustain to be absolute measurements without external independent "observers" confirming this: usually it means that the measurement system is not scientific, but a simple shared convention ... an invention.
This is a discussion forum. Posters post stuff, posters reply, start discussions, etc... I wonder if you knew that.
I wouldn't recommend it. It doesn't seem to be a very good test. Some questions were based on knowledge, like rearragning words to get england or pacific. Also only 20 questions.
If I could do word problems, I would have gotten a better score. I suck at word problems . . . and math. Although, in college I really loved algebra. Go figure. Lol.
Really? .....interesting. The person who told me what I'd quoted also said once she has an IQ of 173. Kinda questioned that since she never got past clerking at Walmart when it came to her career...but maybe so.....
