When will we get back to normal ..I can’t take it

I live in Vegas and don’t do much
I want to get back to my MMA training but I feel they won’t reopen anytime soon
I go to work 5 hrs a day , go home and watch Netflix .
This humdrum life is “ finally starting to crack me”
My entire life was always consumed with sports
Before martial arts ..I was a tennis player ( far better at tennis than fighting )
Sports has always saved me
Now with no sports ..I am Falling apart
I don’t drink or do drugs and I am not the bookish type

 

I have isolated myself more and more and have not called anyone back in my family for many weeks
I feel like I am “ drifting out into the ocean with a broken engine and no paddles “
I am not eating well but sleeping a lot

 

You'll be able to go on when a vaccine is available.

 

Get out of the big city.

The new normal is still the old normal out here where we've been social distancing as a matter of course since always.

 

So it’s better to rot to death at home like a zoo animal than take a risk
Worse the virus knocks you out a few weeks

The media has created this pandemic. The media is always looking for a story to sensationalize. They caused the toilet paper shortage when there was no reason to do that. Now they are trying to say we will soon run out of meat. No, wait, they say, "Could we run out of meat?" They want people to start hoarding meat. The media is killing their own business as more and more newspapers are in financial trouble and the journalist are being laid off. This flu is no worse than some of the seasonal flu's we have had over the past years. The states that have removed the restrictions are the smart ones. People must go to work, period. Hey, it's dangerous to drive to work. Me, I'm fine, I just wait for my investment checks, social security checks, and pension checks to be deposited each month. And I go fishing to places where the boat ramps are open. Closing boat ramps was another silly rule. And Monday I purchased more stocks in the Stock Market. Now is the time to buy.

 

I know how you feel, here in the UK it is driving me insane, was so looking forward to this year, spent all winter getting the Triumph ready for traveling Europe and now I can't go anywhere. Been stopped in a roadblock twice now just for going shopping!

Its ok saying you can always do it another year but I am getting on, health is failing and I might not get another chance.

 

I'm a total recluse/introvert, I'm totally in my element with shelter-in-place. I've been SIPing for 20 years now !

There is nothing preventing you from finding ways to increase your stamina, strength, and flexibility or improve your diet. Use your imagination.

So you may have to go “Rocky” style, who cares? It’ll get the job done.

Set some improvement goals, focus, and get it done.

 

Unless you have the contacts to arrange private training with people willing to defy the lockdown you will have to resort to heavy bag work, shadow boxing, reviewing matches online, and then working at figuring out how they did what they did. That's all I've got. Sorry.

No one knows what the long term effect is once someone test positive. It could lay dormant for many years before symptoms start to show up.

Try the long forgotten exercise of cleaning......it makes boredom look good, burns calories, improves mental health...and makes your home more habitable.

 

And, since we don't know about the long-term effects, it -could- give fantastic speed and agility, the ability to cling to ceilings and walls, and a tingly 6th sense.
