Neither major party is a big tent party. Both have their litmus tests one must pass. Democrats as you pointed out are trying to run Manchin and Sinema out of the party because they’re not card-carrying progressives and don’t march lockstep like mindless robots with the dictates of Democratic Party leaders. Now the GOP is running out of their party all non-Trumpers. This is but the tip of the iceberg. Neither party today tolerates someone with a mind of their own. Therefore, the two major parties are shrinking, since 2006 independents have risen from 30% of the electorate up to 41% today.

The more litmus tests both major parties put in front of folks, the more folks leave the two major parties.

Which is the only optimism we can reach for. Perhaps, one day, the two party nightmare will be over.

No. The two major parties have a monopoly on our electoral system. Republicans and Democrats write our election laws and they do so as a mutual protection act. If there’s one thing both major parties agree on, it’s that no viable third party will ever rise. Then there is the money, between Republicans and Democrats in 2020, they raised and spent 14 billion dollars.

In third place was the Libertarian Party which raised and spent a bit less than 3 million. No third party or independent can compete in the money race. Corporations, wall street firms, lobbyist, special interests, mega individual money donors all give to the two major parties, they don’t give to third parties. Which makes sense, third parties aren’t going to win, so donating or investing in them is a waste of money, resources. Now investing in both major parties, they get a big bang back for their buck. If these moneyed folks mentioned above being smart businessmen didn’t get much more in return for their investment, er donation to the two major parties, they wouldn’t invest. My round about way of saying both major parties owe their hearts and souls to corporations, wall street firms, lobbyists, special interest, mega individual money donors etc. That’s where both parties get most of their cash to run their organizations and campaigns.

We, the people, the voter, are just pawns on the chess board of this monopoly of our electoral system. We’re at their mercy, the monopolists. We think we make a difference and our vote counts. We don’t. Our vote is dictated by the monopolist parties. Either A or B, no other choice. Arsenic (R) or cyanide (D), choose and vote for your poison.

Well, here's a photo of Trump's interns at top and some photos of the interns for each party from a few years ago. Which is more inclusive?

Are you forgetting about what happened to the Republican Congressmen who voted for Trump's impeachment? Talk about being shunned by your party - hello.

Disagree. You just have to look at who is now funding them.

This thread isn't about Trump or the Republicans. This thread is about the democratic party, who claims they are the big tent inclusive party who wants to exclude two from the party.

This thread is about the democratic party who calls themselves the big tent inclusive party who wants to exclude two democrats from the party. Are you trying to say that both parties have litmus tests and if you don't follow the collective then you're out? Is that what you're saying?

Are democrats excluding people from their big tent inclusive party? Or aren't they a big tent inclusive party and that if you don't follow the collective then you are tossed out? All I want from the left is an admission that they are not a big tent inclusive party. You can't kick people out if you are big tent and inclusive. Sounds to me like the club has requirements and if you don't follow the requirements, you are excluded from the club and excluding people means you are not inclusive. And, the two democrats are trying to kick out agree with democrats and vote democratic a very huge majority of the time.
