An honest man fears dirty cops. And it is evident there is an abundance of dirty cops.

The cops can be as dirty as they want, but the truth is the truth and that cannot be denied. The poster is very correct, an honest man fears nothing.

Trump is NOT an employee of Congress. That's idiocy. He isn't supervised or managed by Congress. There is a difference between "over sight" and "managed". Congress has NO right to or duty to manage the president. He is an elected official with his own agenda that he was elected on just as every member in Congress was. Nobody has said that Fauci was a subservient toady except the people with a partisan hack agenda. He is also an appointee of the President and subject to executive privilege. That does exist whether the left wants to acknowledge it exists or not. It existed for Obama, whom used it. It existed for Bush. It still exists. Read up on it and get over it.

All the fawning over Fauci reminds me of all the attention paid to Comey.
I think it is good they are keeping him away from the jackals in congress. Nothing good ever comes out of a cesspool.

There is a difference between "briefing" and "testifying". If they want a simple "briefing" then they can watch the news everyday. It's also the right of the president to tell Congress to pack sand when it comes to executive privilege.

"The privilege that allows the president and other high officials of the executive branch to keep certain communications private if disclosing those communications would disrupt the functions or decision-making processes of the executive branch."

It's in the very word itself. The President is in charge of the EXECUTIVE branch, He is meant to EXECUTE the orders of the Congress. He is not really meant to even have his own agenda, though it has become accepted that he does. He is an employee, yours and mine and we supervise him through the Congress

Like most conservatives you pine for the old days before the Revolution, when we had a King. Self-government is too much trouble, you want somebody to make all the hard decisions for you and none of these pesky rights or freedoms to get in the way of the All-Wise Ruler. Many of our ancestors died because they wanted to rule themselves instead, You need to do some reading yourself, find some good books on the American Revolution and stop listening to fat hypocrites on the radio.

The country was already harmed in material ways by endless, partisan investigations of nothing over the past SEVERAL YEARS NOW. If TDS think there's no limit to that and any branch of government can just keep frivolously impeding government on a whim, you'll find that belief mistaken.

However, it is the best possible campaign boost for Trump coming into this election, to put Schiff, Nadler, et al back as the face of the Democrat Party, so godspeed for the time being. The DNC has never been too sharp on optics and public perception.

Better get back to forging those ballots, going to need maybe 10 million more!

    Landslide.

The president doesn't "execute the orders of Congress." That's a stupid or dishonest interpretation of the duties of the office. Go pipe that smoke up someone else's ass. The people vote for the president and they supervise the president. If they don't like his agenda then they vote him out. Maybe you should take some civics classes. Let me help.

"The executive branch is one of three primary parts of the U.S. government—alongside the legislative and the judicial branches—and is responsible for carrying out and executing the nation’s laws. The president of the United States is the chief of the executive branch, which also includes the vice president and the rest of the president’s cabinet, 15 executive departments and numerous federal agencies, boards, commissions and committees."
    https://www.history.com/topics/us-government/executive-branch

The executive branch consists of the President, his or her advisors and various departments and agencies. This branch is responsible for enforcing the laws of the land.
    https://www.house.gov/the-house-explained/branches-of-government

"Executive Branch of the U.S. Government

The executive branch carries out and enforces laws. It includes the president, vice president, the Cabinet, executive departments, independent agencies, and other boards, commissions, and committees.

American citizens have the right to vote for the president and vice president through free, confidential ballots.

Key roles of the executive branch include:

    • President—The president leads the country. He or she is the head of state, leader of the federal government, and Commander in Chief of the United States armed forces. The president serves a four-year term and can be elected no more than two times.
    • Vice president—The vice president supports the president. If the president is unable to serve, the vice president becomes president. The vice president can be elected and serve an unlimited number of four-year terms as vice president, even under a different president.
    • The Cabinet—Cabinet members serve as advisors to the president. They include the vice president, heads of executive departments, and other high-ranking government officials. Cabinet members are nominated by the president and must be approved by a simple majority of the Senate—51 votes if all 100 Senators vote."

The Vice President is the President of the Senate.
"The vice president supports and advises the president and is ready to assume the presidency if the president is unable to serve. The vice president is also president of the U.S. Senate, and can cast a tie-breaking vote in the Senate."

    What a crock

Having s medical expert testify in front of Congress has nothing to do with "partisan investigations". Congress has to know what we're sealing with in order to do it's JOB.

    What are you afraid of?

    Tell it to Joe Biden.

I can't imagine there are any questions left that haven't already been asked of Fauci.

They don't want him grilled by the Democrats, because they know he will say several things that will undermine Trump.

He will only be allowed to appear in an orchestrated appearance controlled by the GOP Senate.

It is tragic that Fauci's Lifetime of Integrity has been destroyed by his Association with the Trump Trainwreck.

Please note that there is nothing in that entire post that says the President at any point makes laws.

The Congress makes laws, the Courts interpret them and the President, as your post quite rightly points out, executes and enforces them. The President does what the Congress tells him to, as I said, he is not an elected King.

The COVID-19 pandemic is long over now. Fauci has plenty of time to spend testifying.

The Congress doesn't dictate what the president does or doesn't do. The Constitution does. I never said that Trump makes laws.

And the Constitution says that the President enforces and executes the laws that Congress makes. He is a manager. He has broad latitude in how he does what Congress tells him to but he is generally limited to do just that. The Congress has a duty to oversee the President and the President has a duty not to evade or deceive that oversight, as Trump is trying to do here.
