I am not talking even about slavery I’m talking about segregation which became illegal in the 60s. Those generations and their children have their parents attitudes . The fact that you don’t see discrimination is mind blowing.
Here are a few..some I am sure you will deny. .these are things white people dont even think about
If you should need to move, you can be pretty sure of renting or purchasing housing in an area which you can afford and in which you would want to live and your neighbors will welcome you.
You know history books will always show white people and when they talk about our heritage it is white people
When you go to get a loan, your race isn’t working against you..the assumption you’re not financially reliable
You don’t Have to teach your children not to run behind white people
You can curse or wear ratty clothes without people attributing It to the bad morals of your race
You’re not described as a white person, as though you’re the exception
If a cop pulls you over you can be pretty sure it has nothing to do with your race
You don’t have to be concerned about being followed around in stores.
You’re not identified by your race....but I know, there’s no racism
