White nationalist groups plan rally in Lexington to oppose moving statues

White nationalists are planning a rally in Lexington to oppose the planned removal of two Confederate statues from the lawn of the former Fayette County Courthouse, and they’re considering a laws




Matthew Heimbach, chairman of the Traditionalist Worker Party, said his group is discussing plans for the rally with others allied under an umbrella organization called the Nationalist Front.

Heimbach said people in the Lexington area asked his group to get involved. The group has members in Kentucky and plans to try to recruit more, he said.

There are over 700 confederate statutes and I do believe they all belong in museums. They need to be removed without the aid of fascist antifa thugs, though.

I also worry the standard alt right is not doing enough to distance themselves from white nationalist groups like this who are coat tailing on the movement and its name.

 

Unfortunately, now these nationalists know they have an audience - we will have riots for awhile. Trolls and those who will rise to the troll bait. Both are wrong. I feel for the cops - they will be the real and only innocent victims here.

Well, if you guys would stop trying to stomp out their first amendment rights and ignore them then no one will even know they're there. Instead the angry left shows up armed for a fight and then you blame everyone but yourselves when you get injured.

But the bottom line is you just can't ignore them, can you? You feel the deep need, it's almost genetic, to do whatever it takes to shut down what you guys don't like.

 

It's the same problem that happened with the Tea Party movement. Good intentions in the beginning - then the scum moves in. Same with BLM. We just can't have nice things in the house.

 

It will be very interesting to see how this goes down if the counter protestors stay home.

 

Totally agree it was a natural reaction and exactly why the Antifa mob riots should have been stopped in their tracks. Now you have these f'ing morons thinking they can get attention and grow their cause. At this point, I would search every protester remove any weapons, any shields, any flag poles, any head gear, any masks and everything else. If they put one on their arrested, if any other group comes in their arrested. I would have a major show of force by the guard not police, full gear with M16s and stop this madness.

Not quite. The majority of the people killed by the KKK were rapists, child molesters, thieves, murderers, and other bad people. I know the left-wing indoctrination you've been surrounded with for half a century has led you to believe that all of their victims were peaceful, soulful, good hearted black folk (because they all are, in the left-wing fantasy world), but that's not really the case. Bin Laden, on the other hand, has killed innocent people whose victims were guilty of not being part of the Islamic religion.

 

The body count of today's KKK and Muslims is not even comparable. How many people have been thrown off buildings by the KKK? Why can't you guys just ignore them? I do.

Counter-protesting is not "stomp[ing] out their first amendment rights." Denying them permits would be doing that. Counter-protesting is an equally protected form of speech. Plenty of people show up to oppose white supremacists peacefully. It's just a few folks, "antifa," that stir up violence from that side. I'm not convinced those people are necessarily on a side. They could just be anarchists looking to start ****.

Regardless, ignoring hate is not the solution. Silence is compliance.
