And let's not forget the sneering contempt for the ordinary working and middle classes, and the outrageous snobbery of self-claimed intellectual superiority.

It's not so much that they don't care, it's that few spend any time at all thinking through the implications of the fantastical boons they spruik for. Not sure I've yet met a single Progressive who's thought through the economics and logistics of what they want. They fall at the very first hurdle.

The Republicans should put a moderate lesbian black female up for Prez in 2024. The Progs will soil themselves trying to figure out the oppression metric, and how to vote Democrat without being accused of every bigotry on their own list.

That would be tremendously entertaining :D

Nope, that was "show me the birth certificate" Trump. It's all on your guy. Sorry 'bout that. Pick better candidates.

Sure. I'm a longshot for winning the gold medal in every Olympic event next year.

True story. I'm not even in the top 100.

I guarantee that if they put Candace Owen up, they'll keep what you call the 'white nationalist' vote.

Remember that the Left (both here, and in America) are today's proper racists. Keep up, Kiddo!

He's not my guy (by any measure), and the division is wholly down to Obama. He absolutely destroyed the burgeoning middle class and mobility of Black America of the late 20th and early 21stC.

Show me your birth certificate vs burgeoning middle class. See where I'm going with this? Get real. Trump's strategy is division. Obama's was not. That Trump tricked millions of people into believing his lie makes him the divider, not Obama.

no, the left was not, the southern conservatives were, and they just moved to the right, liberals stayed on the left

many on the right would vote for a black President, I just do not think the white nationalists would and the right needs their vote

Many journalists in the aftermath of the chasm created by Obama agree with @crank (and me). Obama was the divider. What do you expect from the party which constantly focuses on separating people by skin color and sex?

Think the tribal identitarian platform is good for unity? It is designed to pit groups of people against each other on the most crude of levels.

There is plenty of evidence that Obama was the Great Divider in Chief.

    So much for reality..

The chasm was created by slavery and maintained with Jim Crow.

What was it Moscow Mitch said after Obama was elected? So hard to remember long, thoughtful and principled statements. Oh yes, "Party of NO". The Right already had it's racism, and they were ready to rock.

Remember Birtherism, how about Stump Turtle (which became amazingly ironic after Trump won)??

Obama set off the racists by exercising the same rights you and I have. IOW, he didn't set it off, it was already there. To deny Obama would have been to deny him his inalienable rights. Which is exactly what racists want to do.

LOL. Trump actually tried to fix the damage done to Black Americans. And I assure you it pains me to admit that Trump did anything worthwhile.

Things started going to crap for Black Americans when Obama reached Office, and were fully crap by 2015. You need to spend less time re-reading your dogma, and more time looking at statistics and timelines.

What rights are you talking about, in the 21stC? Be very specific.

    SHOW ME YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

    Refute that. Please.

There is increasing criticism of his tenure, in that regard. History will eventually record him as the turning point, for sure. Trump will merely be a symptom.

Of course, if tomorrow sees us living in an Orwellian utopia of thought control and racism as per the Left's most cherished dreams, he'll be regarded as Jesus Christ .. and statues of him (wearing a little girl's bike helmet and white Jerry Seinfeld joggers) will adorn every public space. Anyone caught looking at him funny will be executed for wrongthink.

The Democrats won the white house.
Republicans picked up maybe 10 seats in the house - enough so to bring Pelosi's status as speaker in to question - and almost certainly retained control of the senate.

So... did the Democrats "win" the 20020 election?

    IMO, the country won.
Pelosi lost some power - good news
HoR stays blue - good news
Senate stays red - good news
WH lost a pig - good news

All in all; it's my best case scenario.

Ah well, our "future history" would likely be so much less dystopian had the first black president been a black Republican like Thomas Sowell.
