    Ukraine=Ukraine
    Crimea=Ukraine....stolen by Czars, was Turkic territory
    California, Texas= part of USA
    Russia= not a nation...but a diagnosis, a conglomeration of stolen lands and no legal basis for any kind of existence.

    Canada= a "mistake"?.....weve had this discussion before....and you didnt even know alberta existed prior to a thread being started about it??

    One thing - I wonder why did majority of Crimean residents voted for Ukrainian independence from USSR? Being ethnic russian doesn’t mean you want to be in Russia. The US has a lot of ethnic Germans and they are not lining up to become part of Germany. Absolute majority of the residents in the US, Canada and Australia speak English, yet are not part of the U.K.

    That's like saying the 500k expat russkis living in Londongrad should carve out that particular area and call it New Russia....and ask for recognition...lol.

    How about Brighton Beach in New York? Is Russia going to dare to send their green men there?
    Personally, I’d love to see that! It would be much more entertaining than reading about Russians being slaughtered like pigs in Syria back in February.

    The International Criminal Court in The Hague qualified the accession of the peninsula to Russia as an “international armed conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine”.

    The ICC is a farcical court. All self-respecting nations should either withdraw from the treaty or simply not give a **** what the ICC does and refuse to comply with anything they want.

    The people of Crimea want to go to the Russian Federation. If you want to have another referendum I'm fine with that, but just forcing them to remain in a union they do not want is intolerably authoritarian.
