I know that academically speaking I do not have credentials.

this relativity, speed of light, the passage of time and ordinary motion which you claim are pretty neat stuffs,
real and certainly seems to allow for the possibility of time travel are all rubbish.

the above claims of yours are nothing but man made theories.
theories that cannot make even a bit of a second for Man to travel through time.

Once an event had taken place, it is gone forever, Man cannot can go back in it.
How can Man reach a future that has not taken shape just yet.
Man creates an event through the observation of his own speed.
The speed of light is not a factor in a man made event.

Are you saying Man can go back on this 9/11?
How? It has been erased already.

Today is the 11th of december 2012,
are you prepared to make a claim that
Man can go to and access the 31st of december 2012
    through time travel?
How? Through this relativity of Einstein?
By duplicating the speed of light?

Einstein, through his claim of relativity is delusional in claiming the possibility of time travel.
    Man is here to lie.

No Man has ever told the truth.
The existence of this species is based on lies.

Stephen Hawking is stupid in believing in time travel.

It's not just the credentials you are lacking. Far more importantly, you are lacking valid reasoning to justify your conclusion. Einstein did not claim time travel, for the record. Rather, the truths he discovered about the universe merely seem to imply that time travel is possible. Think about the reason I have to explain this to you, even though I already stated it clearly in my previous post. The reason is that your understanding of logic is flawed. I made the statement that relativity seems to allow for the possibility of time travel. You inexplicably interpreted that as a positive claim for the possibility of time travel. This is a subtle distinction, but it is an easy one to spot if your brain is working correctly. And no knowledge of physics is required to correctly read and interpret what I said correctly. And still, you made up something completely different and responded to it instead of what I actually said. Please correct your faulty reasoning if you wish to gain anything from any discussion ever.

    noted.

I'd say this is the result of 2 opposing viewpoints
in relation to expressing beliefs regarding the
claim of the possibility of time travel.

you are a subscriber of the possibility
    of time travel.

on the other hand, I, in absence
    of such academic credentials
    dismissed the possibility
    of time travel.

    only time will tell.

my sincere apology had I offended you.

Nope. That's not what's going on. Let me try to explain this to you again. You are making assertions which you have no business making. You can take a position. You call that your opinion. It is not something you are to state as a fact. You don't know anything. I don't want to have a discussion about time travel with you because you don't seem to have the basic social skills required for discussion, ie, not calling someone stupid because they disagree with you about something you are completely ignorant about.

And no, I do not believe time travel is possible for human beings, in the way popularized by science fiction, or anything close to that.

What is with this ranting of yours about telling lies? If it were true, I'd have to disbelieve everything you say :D

Now, again, I agree that traveling to the past is highly unlikely. I think as you do about it - it's gone, a state of affairs that is passed and will never exist again. Anything we do in the present is still in the present, even if that thing we do happens to be traveling anywhere near to light speed! Consequentially, while we might come near enough to light speed to seriously dilate time, i.e. have events race by outside of the craft while they apparently slow down (relatively speaking, of course) inside, that is still only manipulating the present and, of course, the future. Thus, not only is time an illusion, but so too would be a trip to the future, since all we'd actually be doing is prolonging the life of a human being by altering the flow of time (whatever that actually is!) relative to the flow of time back on Earth, the space station or what have you. Thus, the traveler would see a point in time he or she would otherwise have not lived long enough to see, but I don't think that could be properly termed time travel. It might be fair to call that time manipulation, but not time travel.

And there remains to be seen what would happen if an attempt were made to accelerate a craft all the way to light speed. As far as I know, physics already predicts this to be impossible.

How do you explain in this case the relativity factor gamma=1 / Sqrt((1-v^2)/c^2) of some of Einsteins formulas?

Had I been a subscriber to the belief of the existence of God, Moses and his 10 Commandments
of God, Jesus Christ as the son of God, Einstein and his theory of relativity and Hawking with his
presentation of the possibility of time travel, then you should not believe me.

both moses and jesus christ are lies.

Looks like we have quite a mess if v were to somehow exceed c. Now I want to go study Hawking's imaginary time to see how it relates to all this. In time, I suppose. I should probably learn classical physics first.
