No, no one needs those things. That's why I always use soft point bullets in my 5.56 loads and I always keep my defense rifle on semi-semi-automatic!
Because it's the bill of RIGHTS not the bill of needs. By the way just picked up one of these new in the box.
Actually the AR-15/M-16 that is chambered for the 5.56X45mm (Remington .223) isn't an assault cartridge but a varmint cartridge based upon the Remington .222 which was designed for varmint hunting (groundhogs, squirrels, etc) The 5.56X45 was a hunting cartridge and the AR-15 and M-16's were not called assault rifles by the U.S. military until 1980 when the liberals and MSM coined the phrase "assault weapon." Before 1980 the U.S. Army and Marine Corps never referred to the M-16 as an assault rifle because it was chambered for a high power varmint cartridge. Before liberals politicized the AR-15's and other AR's there were only two rifles that met the military definition of being an assault rifle, the Sturmgewehr-44 and the AK-47. When Armalite developed the AR-15 and after Colt bought the rights to manufacture the AR-15 and the M-16 the AR-15 was sold in sporting goods stores as a hunting rifle years before the U.S. military was forced in protest to adopt the little M-16 peashooter. 1962 Colt AR-15 advertisement
So you think the OP is trolling? I thought you might expand on how you see it that way? You may be right but I still find it amusing.
