    THANK YOU MARINE!!!!

This has been my point since the beginning.

Whether a person thinks what happened as far as duping Iran into paying HUGE sums of money for worthless parts and Israeli owned defective U.S. TOWS....in order to fund Anti-Communist Forces in Nicaragua and other Central and South American countries CUBA was screwing with as per Moscow's orders......ONE DOES NOT LEAVE MEN STRANDED ON A BATTLEFIELD OR ABANDON THEM IN A WAR.

THAT....is what this was all about.

It is one thing not to fund a group and another thing all together to fund them and support them and have them depend upon you and then ABANDON THEM!!!

Some people will NEVER be able to understand unless they were the ones who were depending upon us.

Which military men were left stranded on which battlefield in Iran? Oh, and while we're talking about being stranded, I seem to recall a certain American who has been incarcerated in North Korea for over a year now. Don't see much action happening over that...

Oh, and here's a little hint; if you don't start screwing around with democratic sovereign nations where you have no business to be, don't install murderous dictators who get deposed by fundamentalist theocracies, then you won't have to deal with hostage crises. Just a thought-and perhaps your serially idiotic administrations should employ some occasionally.

Hey like George Carlin said...."THAT'S OUR JOB!!!"

George asked...."Hey....we don't make TV's or VCR's worth a F@#$ but we can bomb the Hell out of your country all right!"

"Besides....that's our JOB!....to rule the planet."

"Who was the last group of people who tried to rule the world? Germany....Hitler....Japanese....they wanted to rule the world....F@#$ THAT! THAT'S OUR JOB!!!"

Reagan was one of the most respected Presidents we have ever had. He brought back respect for America which we lost under Carter..

    I LOVED Reagan.

Even though I know Jimmy Carter to be a good man....he was the wrong President in the worse situation at the most critical time.

The very DAY Reagan was sworn in and took office the Hostages were released.

I started my training just before Reagan took over office under the Carter administration and then in 1981 when Reagan took office....BOY....did things change....and remember I am not Military.

We were told the Gloves were COMING OFF!!! And boy did they ever come off.

Deflection by using past presidents is not going anywhere. This is all about our present incompetent, lying president, that has been flushing America's, Constitution, Economy, Obamacare, and Foreign Policy down the crapper. You can bring up the failings and foibles of all 43 presidents and they will not compare to what Obama has done in the five years he's been president.

And deflecting the current issues on the credibility and lies of the current president by questioning why Reagan sold weapons to Iran has no bearing as to why Obama is now giving Iran the nod to continue to develop and create nuclear weapons.

You know....I am an Independent thus I do not follow or vote for either major party but I can tell you because of what I do....what we are doing right now as far as Iran is concerned has two possible results.

#1....Things actually work out for a change and Iran upholds it's end of the agreement and this makes us look good.

#2....Iran does not hold up it's end of the deal thus we have to go in with the world seeing we tried to work things out and this makes us look good and Iran look bad.

Iran's population has over 70% people at 30 years old or younger.

Change and movement towards a Democratic Iran is inevitable.

As well...the U.S. Military is not going to worry or have any issues dealing with a few circa 1945 Fission Weapons.

Alpha you got that one right. Iran will have at best a few IRBMs. One US destroyer with SM3's checks those without much difficulty. Not to mention which Israel has it's own ABM capabiity.

I mean in 5 to 10 years the vast majority of the Old Iranian Religious Guard will have died out so why make an enemy out of the already existing 70% which in 5 to 10 years will be 80% of the Iranian Population that will most likely be democratic and friendly?

Waiting is the best course of action right now.

Maybe Obamacare can work in Iran with a 70% population 30 years or younger. Cause it ain't working here.

Respect from whom? America is respected by nobody; people got wise to your opportunistic bullying and self-interested meddling in countries where you have no right to be. If you can't understand that then you need to be looking in from outside.

Yes, the hostage release had nothing to do with Reagan-unless, of course, you actually believe that he managed to sort the crisis out in a few hours.

How convenient it is for people in America to forget that any issues you now have with Iran began in 1953 with your epically stupid overthrow of her democracy.

Some on the more liberal left are still trying to convince our elected representives to include States' rights functionality in our exportation of democracy product, in the next version upgrade.

He didn't Israel did. The plan was to sell them to a group that wanted to overthrow the Ayatollah as a sign for support, it was just a few outdated shoulder launched missiles. Once they took power the Americans that were being held hostage would be released by the new government. Going through Israel would give them cover. The proceeds of the sale would go to help fight the communist attempting to over Nicaragua.

Had it worked it would have been a great plan, but we got fooled and the people in Iran were unable or unwilling to overthrow the Ayatollah.

How convenient of Brits to forget that it was as much if not more a British operation as an American one, and that Mossadiq wasn't likely to hang on to power in any case. The Shah enacted almost all the reforms that Mossadiq had wanted, and Mossadiq would have been just as roundly hated by the same forces that hated the Shah and try to over throw the Shah. By the way what limited chances exist that the current ranian Regime might be toppled from inside are almost entire because of the Shah's attempts to modernize his country.

    Lol utter nonsense.

This post is completely false. No one is free today because of Reagan, quite the reverse - there's just a lot of people dead, including Americans.

Actually after his second term his approval ratings were average to low. He wasnt exceptional at all in the eyes of Americans at the time of his government.

Not really. Actually some remember Reagan as a mass murderer.

Ah so for you it's only about Americans - regardless of innocents brutally wounded and killed? I guess you reckon Obama is the best because he started bringing troops home from the Middle East wars? Doubt it

I didn't forget Britain's role, and I frequently mention it. The fact remains that it was the CIA who orchestrated the overthrow of a democracy which didn't suit America's interests, and installed a totalitarian regime which did-and all for oil. So, yes, America is absolutely the author of all and any issues you now have with Iran.

So, Mossadegh "wasn't likely to hang on to power"? What business was it of yours? Iran was a democracy, and if Mossadegh's government was unpopular it was Iran's democracy (America's favourite word), which would have ousted him-by popular vote by Iran's population. America has no business deciding what is the 'correct' form of democracy of sovereign nations. The forcible overthrow of a democratic government by a foreign power is an act both of war, and of fascism.
