The inconvenient truth does tend to irritate the true believers, but many are finally catching on. Hang in there. :)

Real solutions are generally rejected by our corrupt political establishment and its fan base.

“Politics in modern America has become a lucrative business, an industry that has less to do with policy and a lot more to do with accessing money and favors. … bills and regulations are often introduced not to affect policy change, but as vehicles for shaking down people for … money and favors. Indeed, the motive on both sides often has nothing to do with creating a “correct” policy but instead is often about maximizing profits.” EXTORTION, "How Politicians Extract Your money, Buy Votes, And Line Their Own Pockets, Peter Schweizer, HMO, NY, NY, 2013, p. 4.

Many ? You mean the gubers that follow faux news ? You lost the last election to science believers.

Do you really think generals are scientists? I suspect not. ;-)

The Fake Science scam is now being exposed. You need to catch up with the facts.

"In fact, the week before the New York Times put the replication crisis on A1, science journalist Christie Aschwanden laid out these facts in great detail in a wonderful article and interactive for FiveThirtyEight. Her piece runs through the many biases, errors, and inefficiencies of modern scientific practice that allow false findings to infiltrate the literature. Researchers can hack their way to spurious conclusions, and they’re incentivized to hide negative results. Journal editors ignore replication failures, and they’re often slow to fix mistakes."
SLATE: SCIENCE, Is Science Broken? Or is it self-correcting? By Daniel Engber, Lisa Larson-Walker, AUG. 21 2017.

Fake Science does pay well. Just ask Al Gore. Follow the money and you will find the scam artists.

“In recent years, despite thousands of bills introduced into Congress every year, only a small percentage (approximately 5%) become law. Of course, what matters for laws is quality not quantity. But why would legislators bother to introduce so many hopeless bills? What if they are not even designed to pass? What if they are instead designed to make money? The cold harsh reality in Washington is this: the very conditions that are so maddening for most Americans —gridlock, problems being ignored, hyper partisanship — are the very conditions that are most lucrative for the Permanent Political Class. Washington may not be working for citizens, but it's working quite well for members of the Permanent Political Class who profit handsomely.” EXTORTION, "How Politicians Extract Your money, BuyVotes, And Line Their Own Pockets, Peter Schweizer, HMO, NY, NY, 2013, p. 7, 8.

Schneider and Ehrlich, were touting the new ice age before pitching global warming. They couldn't sell the ice age so they found a new product.
GW has worked better for them science journals are easy targets for Fake Science scams these days.

Surely you know that there are "wealthy and powerful people who make their fortunes" off of the man made climate change hoax?

And they call attention to drought yet when we here in CA have a major highway #5 shut down due to heavy snow, they tell us not to worry, all the cold snow amounts to is more evidence of warming.

We are getting heavy rains here in my part of the state along with snows in the mountains but per the alarmists, that is more warming. It doesn't matter how cold it gets, they call it warming. Then they wonder why we are not buying what they are selling.

It is hard to believe "scientists" after they get caught fudging or making up their data.

We do not have to be all that smart. All we have to do is read the exposes of Fake Science in publications like The New York Times, Scientific American, Slate, AFP, NPR, ... the public record.

""The majority of papers that get published, even in serious journals, are pretty sloppy," said John Ioannidis, professor of medicine at Stanford University, who specializes in the study of scientific studies.
This sworn enemy of bad research published a widely cited article in 2005 entitled: "Why Most Published Research Findings Are False."

AFP, Beware those scientific studies -- most are wrong, researcher warns, By Ivan Couronne, July 5, 2018.

There is a debate of climate change because the climate is changing...even deniers now admit this. The debate has shifted to why and will eventually shift to what can we do. The sad reality being that by the time they get to this stage it will be too late to do anything at all....perhaps that is the plan. It is likely already too late for real changes that may help somewhat so this whole debate is a bit of a joke anymore. There is also the simple fact that humans and politics/governments cannot agree either so worldwide agreement to ANY fix is unlikely if not impossible.

The sooner we as individuals face fact and explain/apologize to the kids who will have to deal with it the better....at least most of us here wont be around when the fan gets coated.

Do you have a source documenting that a scientist who has questioned man made global warming has ever denied that the climate changes?

Not only is that disrespectful to the military, but it’s a load of ignorance as well. There are many science related career fields in the military. Grade is attained as you work your way up by level in each field in the military.

Referring to the necessary science the military uses as fake and calling their efforts fraudulent is underhanded, disrespectful and cowardice. You deniers are the epitome of internet trolling and lying.

Sure, I found one article that says deniers live in ignorant bliss.

Like your avatar, Ted is the best, purest hitter I ever saw play. Nothing wrong with being one with nature. Respecting it, not trying to change or control it.

lol...dodge...you're on a science thread discussing the science of climate change, and you don't want to discuss the science behind your claims? really?...

yeah you've been caught out, you don't know anything about the science , the best you can do is parrot an internet denier meme "it happens" lol...wow what massive science knowledge you got there dude...

you seriously expect us to believe you studied climate change after that post?

warmer temps increase the amount of snowfall!

more heat=more humidity=warm humid air mass meets cold dry air mass=more snow...that's pretty simple and you didn't know

the high arctic despite it's cold temps is a desert, it gets relatively little snow compared to more southerly latitudes...snow is the result of warmer temps not colder...apparently you don't know the difference between weather and climate either...

maybe you should take denier poster fmw's strategy and refuse to discuss the actual science because you clearly don't know what you're talking about...

This is what I mean. Denial of climate science eventually leads to denial of all science.

There is no widespread conspiracy to make up data. In fact, I'm not aware of any substantiated claim that a climate scientist has fraudulent made up data. The claims you do see are from scientists who made an honest mistake and who fixed them right away. Or more often than not they are unsubstantiated claims from deniers who don't understand the material.

Let's see why you feel so threatened you taunt and insult? Why?

Hot and very cold days mean we have man caused global warming according to you? And what is the science you base that on?
