    That's what I was thinking.

I don't think that's accurate. Sure, the U.S. may have dissolved such rights in the past and may even be in the habit of refusing to reinstate them.
But the U.S. is not supposed to do such a thing, according to the constitution, right? Isn't that precisely why so many people take issue with the existence of places like Guantanamo bay and Abu Ghraib?

As far as government being able to dissolve rights?...Not trying to make any particular point here at all. Just trying to understand yours.
Also, keep it mind who it was who inserted the extreme situation into the conversation, thanks.

    I did make a point regarding wealth distribution a while back though, so, getting back to that;
Do you agree that the government, being the creator of U.S. currency, has a right to set the terms of use of that currency?
And do you agree that, in addition to protecting individual enumerated rights, part of the government's role is also to see to the general welfare of society?
(yes, I already know you already answered that second bit, I just decided to post it again anyway as a rehtorical since it was a part of the point I was making)

would not be a problem if everyone earning income was all treated equally, when you earn your income you pay taxes, when you die and someone else earns your income, they pay taxes, that keep society moving.. all income has to be treated as income.. the super rich are violating this rule... this leads to the crash of a society and income inequality

just because the rich can doesn't mean they should abuse the system....

    You know what?

I've spent the last hour searching the internet over loss of Constitutional rights.

And I've found that it's all based on personal interpretation based on political prejudices and interests.

For example, some believe that the prohibition of prayer at school events is a violation of freedom of religion. What they fail to realize is that there are people who are not religious in those crowds so prayer is also an imposition on them. They seem to think that there is no freedom FROM religion, but that's not true.

So now I'm not entirely sure about this claim of loss of Constitutional rights.

I'm going to be doing some more research into this before I make up my mind on this matter.

Why? If dems want to pay more taxes, they are free to pay more if they like.

those that take the most out of a society should put the most back into it... if that doesn't happen the society fails...

My neighbor is unemployed and has not committed suicide. I don't think a pop star's lifestyle is relevant to his situation.

How about those who contribute the most to society? What reward should they realize?

No, but knowing that so much money is put to no use other than staying in someone's pocket just for the sake of it, isn't a good prospective for those who struggle to make a living. Having lots of unutilized money is a form of luxury, it's the mere satisfaction of one's personal pride, a phallic extension... " i have more than others and i feel good about it ". You cannot escape from psychology, there's no other reason to have great uninvested capitals other than that, unless you have some sort of hidden project which requires lots of money but it's very unlikely.

they are the richest.. isn't that enough, why do people need to be rewarded on top of that?

now if the 40 hour worker contributes to society and is not given a fair share then they receive welfare.. that is fair

but no need to reward people with huge tax breaks for making lots of money, the 'making lots of money' IS the reward....

The terms? I believe that part of the terms involve the understanding that some of the currency will need to be paid back to the government in taxes.

When 85 individuals have as much wealth as the bottom half of the total population on the planet..........3 1/2 billion souls, surely we can come up with a system somewhere between communism and capitalism which will be a better accommodation for mankind.

That's logical. After all the government is also what protects U.S. citizens along with our interests. So that's completely understandable.

•In the US, the wealthiest one percent captured 95 percent of post-financial crisis growth since 2009, while the bottom 90 percent became poorer.

Not any more than Keebler has a right to tell me how to use the cookies they created. Silly question though. IRS rules are the same whether you take payment in U.S. currency, Yen, bank credits, gold, bit-coins or diamonds.

Dear KTT: sorry I missed your reply above previously.
If the state is not managing resources as you believe to be most cost-effective
then don't give your money to the state.
Invest your resources and labor directly into the solutions you believe in,
and deduct that from your taxes (either through a business, church, school or other nonprofit)

So this way, you can manage enough resources to serve in the capacity you believe in.
And you also reform the state not to waste resources it cannot manage effectively.
By taking back responsibility for the people, and retaining control of our own resources to begin with.

We do not need to go through a middle man to "redistribute" our resources.
We can agree to use the state for just things we DO agree to manage on that public level
(such as police or military security) and keep the rest on a localized level where everyone is responsible for investing and managing their own resources.

NOTE: even if you think you cannot develop enough resources to manage a whole community, this can be taught.
There are both business groups teaching financial independence by buying out real estate,
and nonprofits that teach communities to mint their own currency in local labor pools and business networks.
Microlending is another route that any community can use to build and manage their own labor and wealth.
So there are ways to educate and train people in EVERY community to build and manage their own sustainable resources.
This is better than expecting to throw all resources into one huge govt pool, and then argue over how the money is to be distributed and managed
in each state, district, or city. It's better to manage it locally so that all people have access to equal representation instead of competing with outside groups.

Hi KTT sorry I didn't find or follow up on your response earlier

    A. in cases where people agree to work in unsafe conditions for less pay than the housing costs they are stuck in for those jobs so they stay in growing debt,
or agree to prostitute themselves to feed their starving families,
this isn't exactly free will or lawful, but coerced and/or criminal.
Yes it is happening in many nations; even workers brought to the US were defrauded and enslaved under terms that were changed/violated without their consent.
If we all worked together to go after the trafficking and slave labor abuses, the restitution owed for these violations could pay to develop schools and
safe community facilities so these poor areas could not be exploited this way.
I don't think we need to agree on capitalism/communism/etc. to agree that the abuses should be replaced with sustainable education and services.

    B. to make a simplified streamlined solution
what about setting up a system of microlending against restitution to finance the development of better working, living and educational standards in poor areas?
so the rich people can still benefit from lending in to invest in building sustainable safe economic programs,
and the poor people can still receive help.
but it is VOLUNTARY for lawabiding citizens to participate.
and only MANDATORY if someone committed crimes and owes restitution for debts and damages.

There are already laws in place in the US through RICO (anti racketeering)
that empower victims of trafficking crimes
to reclaim property that was abused for organized crimes, especially for trafficking children.

KTT since you want a global system that will address all areas universally
why not a database or banking system that matches donors/investors
with cases of restitution where crime victims or communities are owed for damages,
and the capital or credit is lent into developing sustainable campus networks for schools and jobs to rebuild poor areas
while the people receive assistance to recover from abuses, crime, poverty or other setbacks until they stabilize?

why not network all the microlending and charitable development organizations into a global system
and let people participate and donate or invest on a voluntary basis (while criminal cases are mandatory and managed by govt)

we could build teaching hospitals this way, in every district, to create jobs and training while providing social services to the public.
if it is all under an educational system, and paid for by restitution for crime, or investment that is paid back to lenders,
can't we build a sustainable economy this way? combining the best of all systems where they work most effectively? Thanks!

Of course... we can. Basically all we have to do is taking the best of which capitalism is capable in terms of technological progression and fuse it with the best socialism has to offer in term of social progression and vivability of society. But when people praise the rich who don't share with others and spread a philosophy of greedy edonism is.. awkward. I mean.. it's as if people want to suck satan's dick/vagina, knowing it is poisonous, but still they do.

What I notice is people who demonize the poor for deifying the "thug rap culture of disdain for authority" feel the same way.
They generalize the opposition as poor freeloaders who want to stay poor, complain about the wealthy, and live off welfare paid for by others.

Even with both negative generalizations, about the rich and the poor as exploitative or destructive etc.,
we can still solve problems by taking the best solutions and following/replicating successful models for breaking the poverty cycle
and building sustainable systems of education and economy.

Maybe it helps by recognizing the disdain is mutual, there are crooks on both sides making the rich and the poor "look bad"
and there are people among the rich and the poor who DON'T fit either stereotype
and are making good contributions to solutions from all sides. There is good and bad on both extremes of the social groupings.
we can't let that get in the way of effective solutions that are already proven to work and just need to be replicated as models.
