If the woman gets pregnant from rape, she must have enjoyed it because if she didn't, her body would have shut that whole thing down!

Of course, not saying that if a part of the women subconsciously enjoyed the rape she deserves it. Just because the woman was forced to experience pleasure during the abuse does not mean she chose to. The rapist is still 100% to blame.

But the woman is, to some extent at least, less likely to become pregnant if she did not enjoy it. That is why rapists so often subconciously attempt to pleasure their victim, even while they are brutally abusing them. It's probably a dark evolutionary adaptation from the past.

Tod Akin said it when he was running for office....he stated that in the case of "legitimate" rape the woman's body shuts down.....implying that if a woman got pregnant as a result of rape that she was lying about it being rape.

Mourdock said it was god's will.

First of all, the word you guys are conveniently overlooking is TRY. "The female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down." Nowhere does he say that this is always successful or that if it doesn't succeed, she somehow "enjoyed it." That is you putting words he did not say into his mouth. He then even goes further to address what happens if things don't shut down, which both of you completely ignored.

 

You're a smart man so I'm not sure why you continue to defend Todd Aiken. You know as well as I do that what he said was disastrously stupid. If you can admit, as you did in another thread, that the birthers are nuts, why can't you admit that Todd Aiken is as well? His being a fruitcake in no way weakens the pro-life position, it just means this particular guy is a nincompoop.

Using the phrase "legitimate rape" implies that if she didn't enjoy the rape she wouldn't get pregnant, which implies she shouldn't be allowed an abortion due to rape because she "obviously" enjoyed it.
