You're just whining about a non-issue; visit any Wal-Mart facility and the area around that Wal-Mart becomes a major hub of commerce, in which nearly every smaller business around the Wal-Mart is selling competing products...

It has been proven multiple times that when walmart moves in it makes things around them worse. they create less jobs than they destroy (and the jobs they do create pay less), and they take money out of the community.

First this is not true at all, and second, this exact process has been happening since the beginning of commerce! You must also believe that opening a Home Depot, or Best Buy, or Sears, or Target, or McDonalds, etc. etc. etc. are all bad for society?

This world we live in today WILL NOT function ONLY with corner markets, neighborhood hardware stores, local appliance stores, etc. It simply cannot be achieved...

Almost every civilization thoughout all of history has been a socialist society.

So to claim it never works would seems to be adverse to every account of human civilization that has ever existed.

This is incredible. Socialism has never worked anywhere, and perhaps half of today's worldwide nations are suffering under socialism as we speak today. The most successful nation the world has ever known....AMERICA is so powerful because of its capitalistic underpinnings. We are in debt up to our eyeballs today because of obama's failed socialistic policies.

My fiance is German and lives in Nurnberg, I would like to take you to a hospital there sometimes, it is not soo great trust me, I went with her to visit her father the care is (*)(*)(*)(*)ty even as he was a private patient which he pays out of pocket and got the same care as someone who was on government insurance that has lived on welfare the majority of his life, where is the fairness in that? Economically they will go down the tubes in a few years especially since everyone in the European Union expects Germany to bail them out. Also in a few years with the Turkish population exploding most of them on welfare and most of the babies they are having will become products of the system will drain thier country economically as well. In short Germans are taxed through the nose, government is in everything and cost of living is pretty high it is an unsustainable system.

No society has lasted over 250 years or so... without major reform or a complete system overhaul, etc.

    We are approaching that number...

    Rubbish..

The hill and mountain tribe societies in northern Laos for example have existed without any major reform for centuries. Most are just now beginning to modernise and slowly adapt to change. Most, especially the Hmong, Akha, Lanten have cultures dating back several thousand years. They reached the mountain tops of Laos in the last 200-300 years and lived in such isolation they didn't even realise there was a central government.

The Hmong for example began developing out of the medieval ages due to their alliances wiith the CIA during the Second Indochina War. Although the Hmong a wonderful silver smiths, most had never seen welded metal before until contact with the American mlitary.

I'm using realistic comparisons. I'm not talking about an extremely small concentration of people that are centuries behind in terms of technology.

No,,, you are talking about European change and advancements. The world doesn't simply cease to exist beyond the western hemisphere.

You want to model world civilization on primitive Laotian tribesmen who can't even read or write?

    That's not very realistic.

America ha almost always been a socialist society and so has almost ever other society in human history. It would seem it is the most effective if you look at it throughout human history. It has survived the test of time.

I don't even agree with socialism but I can understand reality.

Using what rationale? Obviously there are small parts of socialism.

Every tax is socialism. Me paying for your kids is socialism. Me paying for the military is socialism. Every tax I pay is socialism. Taxes have always existed in America. Therefore socialism has always existed in America.

AT&T is making numerous attempts at becoming a monopoly, Microsoft was a monopoly at one point and one of the ways they got out of a legal confrontation with the Government was by bailing out what at the time was a frail and limping Apple. Da Beers still runs the Diamond industry and suckers thousands of dollars out of mens pockets for jewels that are only worth penny's on the dollar, although thats a world thing as well and not just limited to America. Monsanto, for all intensive purposes, is a monopoly as well, and one of the shadiest ones at that. When a company owns that many "60-95% market shares" its not even funny anymore... also testing your products in the third world countries is not very kosher... never changed their ways after making agent orange for nam...
