I have not doubt some dems have compassion. Most people do, and it does not require one to be a democrat. But even compassionate people have to be responsible and reasonable when it comes to what any society can handle in immigration, especially illegal immigration. Plus, we have set rules and procedures in place to accept refugees, and in no place does the law say fleeing poverty is a justifiable and acceptable reason for america to accept all that would come. SO, you are clearly speaking from ignorance here, highly uninformed as to what our laws are on this issue. It destroys your argument, rather handily. I don't think the Democrats really want border control. I don't think the Republicans want border control either. I believe the only people who want real border control are Mr. Trump and a few of his hard-line redneck followers. My guess is both sides of the isle understand the roll these immigrants play in our economy and don't want to mess with that. You see if the border is completely closed and all the 10 or 20 or 30 million illegals living in the US are deported our economy would suffer greatly.

Unarmed people aren't a threat. Border patrol is allowed to shoot people who pose an imminent threat to health and safety of an officer.

 

Unarmed people trying to come here illegally are a threat to the American way of life. They are invaders from a foreign country and as such can and should be shot. I am not talking about the Border Patrol shooting people; my suggestion was have the National Guard shoot them. Maybe they don't pose an imminent threat to the health and safety of a Border Patrol officer but they do pose a threat to the safety of Americans.

They are the visa overstays. Criminal aliens that have been deported can't get a visa nor come through a port of entry. They are the ones a wall is meant to stop from coming back. You are not aware of that?

A wall like that is a one time expenditure then just maintenance after that.

Because when we deport a visa overstay, the only way back in is across the open border. The guy in San Francisco who killed Kate Steinle was deported and came back 5 times, the guy in Nevada or Utah who killed Sheriff's Deputies was deported 8 times and came back. The wall cuts off the route for deportees to return. Then there's the cost of doing nothing.........

That's $7,248,800 just for a bed per day. That's not counting health care or legal fees. $7,248,800 X 365 = $2,645,812,000 per year.

Why would you want to waste that much money when it can be stopped? How do you expect to pay for it? I'd be in favor of freezing HHS budget and let them pay for it all.

 

Oh please, you must have never dug a ditch in the southwest. The soil bakes in the hot sun with precious little water and is hard as cement. Besides ground sensors would pick up the vibrations of digging 15+ feet down in rock hard soil to get under the wall. The other way is scale a 30ft ladder, navigate 3 rows of razor wire and other anti-personnel barriers setting off intrusion sensors then climb down another 30ft ladder and run off before the border patrol arrives. Oh and by the way a fall from the razor wire on top will be fatal. Will it stop everyone, of course not. However, those wanting to find themselves in the United States might find a casket instead.

 

I watched his speech on BBC tv last night and I honestly don't see how anybody can dispute what he said about undesirables in all their guises including drugs barons, paedophiles, and career criminals coming into the US. It's so logical that anybody who argues against it is either dumb or an unwitting traitor. I mean isn't the immigration crap we're having here an object lesson to all Americans ffs?
