376 illegal immigrants seeking asylum just surrendered to border patrol near Yuma Az. after digging 6 tunnels under the border wall and entering the USA,179 of them were children.A lot of good that wall did.

No, just foreign invaders and those who commit violent crimes.

    And this makes better sense?

That's $7,248,800 just for a bed per day. That's not counting health care or legal fees. $7,248,800 X 365 = $2,645,812,000 per year. They are costing us half of what Trump's asking for a wall PER YEAR not including health care and legal fees. Sorry, there's no way maintaining a Concrete wall would cost $2.6 Billion dollars a year.

I am. And if they get deported and don't want to come back, they won't. Wall or no wall.
If they want to come back and are serious about it, they will come back, wall or no wall.
The Mexican border isn't the only way in.

Drugs still get here, and the majority of it, comes through legal ports of entry where there is a wall.

One more reason we need to stop illegals at the border. American citizens should not have to go through something like this.

    What about it?
It won't cover the 2 oceans, Canada border, or gulf of Mexico.
Drugs come here illegally and some come right through the wall at ports of entry. Smuggled.

If we can't stop drugs, how can we stop people?

Lost the argument, now moving the goal post I see. We were talking about keeping the good people here and kicking the bad people out....then keeping them out. Now you're on to the drugs trade. Please try to stick to one topic at a time.

I am talking about the effectiveness of a wall.
    It's not very effective.
It doesn't address the real issues with immigration. Which would be effective.

You must have never dug a ditch in the southwest. The soil bakes in the hot sun with precious little water and is hard as cement. Besides ground sensors would pick up the vibrations of digging 15+ feet down in rock hard soil to get under the wall. The other way is scale a 30ft ladder, navigate 3 rows of razor wire and other anti-personnel barriers setting off intrusion sensors then climb down another 30ft ladder and run off before the border patrol arrives. A fall from the razor wire on top will be fatal. Will not it stop everyone, of course not. However, those wanting to find themselves in the United States might find a casket instead.

In light of the above, explain why a wall wouldn't be effective?

So, yes, you believe that criminals should be shot and killed if they've committed violent crimes. Got it.

Nope, but maintenance plus illegal immigration that still exists would likely cost us more than that. Your premise that illegal immigration would drop down to zero is a daydream.

Over, under, and here is the biggie, AROUND.
And then smuggled through ports of entry, just like drugs are.

I am not saying they don't work to some extent, it does nothing to address the root of the issue.

I thought that you were saying that the money is sent physically over the border and if border security had been sufficient, that wouldn't be happening.

I can't answer that, but in many ways America is a joke country and not gathering these sort of criminal stats is just another example of that.

What would you suggest we do with violent criminals? With illegal immigrants?

    Based on what exactly?

    He abetted them how?

Name just ONE SINGLE abuse of power.

What crimes has he committed "out in the open?"

Senators Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, Joe Biden and Barack Obama support the wall.....

    ..........in the Secure Fence Act.

    So what changed?

It's about politics not about Americans.

Even if they DID reach the top, how would they get down the other side?

    Is this a question?

What I mean is, a wall that is free to build is no easier or difficult to breach than the exact same wall which costs 5 billion to build.

We don't have open borders. No one but a fringe few want open borders.

This entire thread is based on a false premise - a classic righty strawman.
