he was a mere man during that period of 33 years, that is why he was killed after that he became once again superhuman or god like

no difference if god is in the form of man or spirit so it is okay to worship him as a man of flesh because that flesh was holy or as a divine spirit it is interchangeable

I read your "about me" public profile. Because of that, I am not going to respond as would ordinarily be warranted.

Be well.

This is what I have been saying over and over again, that Christians are ignorant of the scriptures.

Let me show you from the scriptures that the saints will be worshiped.

Revelation 3:9 (KJV)
9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

Greek Strong's Number: 4352
Greek Word: προσκυνέω
Transliteration: proskyneō
Phonetic Pronunciation: pros-koo-neh'-o
Root: from <G4314> and a probable derivative of <G2965> (meaning to kiss, like a dog licking his master's hand)
Cross Reference: TDNT - 6:758,948
Part of Speech: v
Vine's Words: Worship, Worshiping

from <G4314> (pros) and a probably derivative of <G2965> (kuon) (meaning to kiss, like a dog licking his master's hand); to fawn or crouch to, i.e. (literal or figurative) prostrate oneself in homage (do reverence to, adore) :- worship.
— Strong's Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary

Now compare Revelation 3:9 with Revelation 15:4.

Revelation 15:4 (KJV)
4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

The word worship in Revelation 15:4 is translated from the same Greek word προσκυνέω - proskyneō = worship as in Revelation 3:9. This may be shocking to you, maybe even unbelievable, but those two scriptures are very clear on this. Its not that the saints or Jesus will demand people to worship them. The people whom they will be ruling over will do it willingly and glady. The question is do you believe it or are you going to believe whatever you were taught in Church?

Are you:
or shall I consider you "fair game" for trouncing the pathetically ignorant and false claims you make?

It doesn't answer the OP, because the man in the OP has taken literally all of his free time and is worshipping God - to the detriment of friendship, family, service, etc.

Phbt - Catholics worship idols?

Wow, thanks for that advice.

it does answer the OP he is worshipping the lamb not any other gods before the real god so the man is a good christian as god comes before friendship, family, service, etc...

catholicism is just an example of idol worship

And if he isn't Catholic?

And whatever shall we do about it, being Christian and all, maybe we can point him to scripture that indicates alternate methods of veneration and service?

Or, we can continue to bash Catholics - because that will help our lad. :omg:

it doesn't state he is a catholic and they are not being bashed its a fact they worship saints as idols and that is something he is not doing in the OP

anyhow the guy seems alright he spends most of his time worshipping the lamb there is not idolizing there as he is not spending his time worshipping a saint or cross

in catholicism only the priests would probably be so dedicated to worship

First of all, I am NOT an atheist. Second of all, I was responding to the premise that worshiping God is foolish, that includes all forms of worship does it not? And lastly, it would be nice to actually respond to Jedi than yourself, unless you are one in the same. I'm sure he is more than able to speak for himself and clear up any misunderstandings, assuming there are any.

I would just like to add that sitting in judgement over those who sing "foolish" songs of praise to God is beyond reprehensible. If he does not want to be judged he has no business judging others in such a way.

OK, so we have now established that you have no idea that the OP or anyone involved in it is Catholic.

We have also established that you think Catholic's worship idols, but you are an atheist, so who cares if actual Catholics disagree with you? Thanks for the opinion, if you don;t like it - don't be Catholic ... wait ...

And we continue to give absolutely no advice that is relevant to anything in OP.

So, glad we got that cleared up.

Agh yes, this is loving, kind, and compassionate way to give advice to someone ... just like an atheist.

#1 - I did respond to Jedi - go back and read.

#2 - The Bible does not say that we don't judge, the admonition is to avoid hypocritical judgement - because the standards you judge others by will be used to judge yourself as well.

The only one doing any kind of judgement, however, is you. And when someone comes back and applies your standard to you ... well, now what?

Jedi approached this is exactly the right way, he is concerned about a friend, he thinks he has an answer but is uncertain and turns to other Christians for ADVICE.

In other words, he has an open mind ... not you.

Now, how would you recommend people issue questions about something they think is a problem? How do you think we should treat people attempting to do what is right? Tell them that they are the problem instead? Nice.

Yep, so the largets Christian denomination in the world has it all wrong ... as do many other Christians ... and you need to continually point that out? Ignore rebuttals or explanations for the behavior?

So its about your opinion, not the OP, correct?

why should christians judge the man in the OP they all have conflicting views from mormons jehovas catholics they all believe in something different.

they could be all wrong too so yes agree the man is being a good christian and according to the bible the ones that judge him are being bad christians.

Religious faith is a deeply personal thing. Its very hard for me to judge anothers faith being that what I believe is likely not the same as what another believes. If the person referenced in the OP finds it necessary to worship in the manner he does to make peace with his god maybe it is a good thing. However, as a general rule of thumb, I think that if a person is worshipping in a manner that is negatively effecting his ability to function as a friend, family member and member of society his faith may be becoming a detriment to his life. In my view, religion and the expression of ones faith should improve families, friendship and society rather than be a detriment to it.

When a person who claims to be a Christian lifestyle or belief is a religion then it is a problem. Jesus never taught or came to bring a new religion. He came to re-established the kingdom of God and to put man back as lord or ruler in His kingdom.

Yes, religious faith is a personal thing, but it is also a communal thing. Modern religions have many tools to keep the faithful from being abused. These include a Bible (obviously subject to interpretation), Seminary training and professional clergy, strong auditing programs, etc.

And in that light, while tolerance takes allows us to keep an open mind about thing, there is also clearly a point where someone drifts and needs correction. As you allude to above, when someone's family is damaged by faith, when they lose friendships, when ther job performance sips, etc. these are signs that something is amiss.

We all have our different roles and purposes, but, when you start seeing warning signs, then it is time to sit down and have a discussion with the drifting individual.

Truly...you are so ignorant of what Catholicism teaches...and, if you weren't admittedly mentally challenged, I might bother to try and correct you, but I don't think any effort would matter, so...cling to your ignorance. However--consider that you speak of being offended by being called "retarded," consider how YOUR ignorant statements about others might be offensive. Don't be hypocritical.
