Not sure, but some states may have an ammo capacity limit on rifles used for hunting.

That's just a mag issue - use a smaller one.
The one in the pic holds 9.

I know the picture gun is not a 223 but many AR-15s are and plenty of people hunt with that cartridge in an AR-15 and also the same cartridge in the not so scary looking traditional hunting rifles.

Call me old fashioned but I'm one of those ones that thinks that a gun should be made out of wood and steel.

It’s pretty common with bird hunting with shotguns. Honestly I’ve never researched it with rifles.

There are limits for semiautomatic rifles for hunting big game in Colorado, but not for other types or rifles or semiautomatic rifles used for hunting varmints/small game.

In my state, the only capacity restriction is in shotguns, only when hunting waterfowl. Doves, quail, squirrels, etc. you can remove the plug and fill'er up.

That was changed in 2019, I think, from shotguns are restricted to three rounds, unless hunting deer.

The state I grew up in, shotguns are restricted to three rounds no matter what you're hunting, even deer.

Yeah, that sounds right. I’ve hunted feral hogs with an AR and sage rats with a high capacity semi-automatic rimfire rifle. I was pretty sure I had heard of some capacity restrictions on bigger game in some states.

its for migratory birds-ducks doves etc. For hunting feral hogs or coyotes-30 round AR 15s are popular. those are usually animals who have no closed season and in some states, you don't need a hunting license to shoot. same with rats or woodchucks

Agood gun to hunt with. Since it is semi-auto, you can acquire the target, use the key word BRASS (Breathe, Relax, Aim, take up the Slack and Squeeze) and maintain your sight picture if you miss and try again without going through all that again. A bolt action rifle makes you go through all of that all over again if you miss.

I would say you could hunt anything you would use a ranch rifle for. You probably couldn't hunt for a job with it.

It only ever seems to be Fudds or people that don't know anything about the subject who think you can't shoot and kill an animal with a type of firearm.

The only thing that i know of in my state is you can't hunt deer with a .22 but i am not sure if that is still a thing.

Not an AR, but I hunt deer and pick off coyotes with this-

A true weapon of war, the Yugoslavian PAP holds ten 7.62x39mm, has a folding bayonet, and that can on the muzzle is a grenade launcher. Mostly I hunt swamps and thick woods where you can't see more than fifty yards so iron sights are no real handicap. Of the last five deer I've taken with it, four were one shot kills.

It's not a great deer gun, but it does what I want it to do.

The old SKS. Rather crudely finished guns but they are powerful and accurate and in my opinion they are what a gun should be made out of.... Wood and steel.

With a well-placed shot I have no doubt that gun could take down any North American game animal.

None of the anti-gunners have chimed in to tell us why we can't hunt with one yet? What a shame.... They probably know their false talking points will be picked apart one by one and ridiculed without Mercy

    You take that back!!! :eyepopping:

It's not a commie SKS! It's a PAP! The barrel is completely chrome-free!

Looks very similar to the SKS my buddy has except without the grenade launcher, it does have the bayonet and a flip up rear open sight. His is Blue steel

Saying a PAP is an SKS is like saying a Baikal IZH 43 is a Winchester 21.

They are very similar and one was knocked off the other, but the differences make all the difference. The SKS has a chromed bore, the PAP does not. The PAP is slightly more accurate but when you are talking about guns that probably average 4" groups at 100 yards an inch either way isn't a whole lot. I've never shot a Russian or Chineese SKS but a friend of mine has a Chineese made civilian issue Norinco that I don't think very much of. The machining is pretty rough.
