it's a fact, if you tax the poor more they would need more assistance and more woudl qualify

and as I said, I am for a flat tax on every dollar earned over the poverty limit - rich or poor alike

yes, that would help the poor and middle class more then the rich, so the right will never support it

could adjust the poverty limit and give a bottom up stimulus to the economy rather then the republicans failed trickle down tax cuts

it would be fairer as ever one would get the same tax credit, rich or poor, as the cut would come from the bottom, not the top which 90% of Americans never reach

Trump, Republicans, and Democrats are now about to add an additional $1.7 trillion to the debt.

No doubt they expect younger Americans to pay for this as well.

Foisting debt on future generations like this is nothing short of enslavement.

If you're a young American, the rest of your working life will be dedicated to paying off this debt.

Money that could go towards improving your own life will be instead funneled into the pockets of wealthy bondholders.

And for what? To pay for the US war machine? To line the pockets of war profiteering banks and arms dealers? How utterly perverse.

I am Gen X and I have watched the Boomers steal, steal, and steal some more from the nation. I don't understand how these Leftists / Establishment Republicans think spending money we don't have which lands on our kids is anything but generational theft.

 

They know that its theft and enslavement. They just don't care. They're that selfish and greedy. Meanwhile, they complain endlessly about the socialist sympathies of younger Americans. As far as I can tell, those younger Americans are just following the example set by socialist boomers.

The biggest theft of our lifetime was facilitated by Clinton, Bush, Obama as they set up the environment and then allowed the "too big to fail" banks to steal trillions with zero risk. That along with our Military Industrial Complex, and massive Social Spending on vote buying has put our kids in an economic hole that will take them a lifetime to dig out of. It's not right. It's immoral, and it continues!

Step 1: Balance the Budget
Step 2: Begin to pay down the debt with growth and/or further cuts

See if you can sell that to your generation, because the Boomers love them some Socialism, Crony Capitalism, and War.... and we thought they were "hippies".

 

The concept of a "national debt" is nothing more than rank collectivism and authoritarianism. It subordinates the rights and the identity of the individual to some nebulous "nation" that forcefully socializes labor and property.

Anyone who thinks an individual can be forced to inherit the responsibilities and debt payments of another individual is a state socialist.

Obama falls into 5th place.
Clinton even further down the list.

You know what baby boomers did when they had anxiety? They went to work anyway and did their jobs. They didn't make exuses for their lazyness.
I have managed lots of millenials a couple of them were great. The rest sat on their phones complaining about how little they got paid and how much more our employers owed them. Thank you babyboomers for everything you did to make America great.

As for national security... we pay more for entitlements than national defense.
National defence is the only part ofvthe budget where we get our moneys worth.

Get your facts straight. These workers ised fraudulent documents to obtain the jobs they had and were fired as a result.
