Poll after poll show those numbers. Most of the muslims who favor Jihad are in the ME. High numbers in all of the ME and even higher numbers around Israel.

I haven't seen The Iraqi government attacking civilians.

The only thing that terrorism has to do with religion is that it is spelled out in the koran that allah wants his followers to dominate the Earth by force.

World Public Opinion: 61% of Egyptians approve of attacks on Americans
32% of Indonesians approve of attacks on Americans
41% of Pakistanis approve of attacks on Americans
38% of Moroccans approve of attacks on Americans
83% of Palestinians approve of some or most groups that attack Americans (only 14% oppose)
62% of Jordanians approve of some or most groups that attack Americans (21% oppose)
42% of Turks approve of some or most groups that attack Americans (45% oppose)
A minority of Muslims disagreed entirely with terror attacks on Americans:
    (Egypt 34%; Indonesia 45%; Pakistan 33%)
About half of those opposed to attacking Americans were sympathetic with al-Qaeda’s attitude toward the U.S.

Swastika is to Jewish kids as "one God Allah and his prophet is Mohammed" is to Christian children who witnessed 9/11.

Did your article mention that the girls were "invited" to wear hijabs?

So (*)(*)(*)(*)ing appropriate. Let's celebrate... shall we?

You asked the poster to site that there was more than a "minuscule amount" of the Muslim world who subscribed to a totalitarian violent perspective of Islam. I assume you read the entire link, and did not simply study the image I posted concerning sharia law. I further assume you know what sharia law is. If not... let me know.

How does a proponent of the separation of church and state back a calligraphy lesson that has kids write, "There is no god but Allah, and Mohammed is the messenger of Allah"? I know, you against separation of mosque and state, right? Yet another example of liberal hypocrisy.

    Umm...In god we trust,
That being said I am a catholic...but I am not for the old testament.
The separation of church and state is a good thing, and like the Op said ..it is a "Rough" translation...it was a Freaken calligraphy lesson. Schools shutting down is exactly what Isis wants.
I am wandering who the hell translated that gibberish.
I see no hypocrisy...But sheer fear and stupidity.

They didn't shut down because of the homework assignment, they shut down because the school administration was afraid of the parents putting a boot up their (*)(*)(*).

The Arab did give us some useful things and tools there is no doubt. Algebra was "invented" by Arabs in order to facilitate dividing an estate when there are male and female heirs and females according Sharia had to get proportionally less than males. So the Estate = 4A + 3 B +2C came into being. The better strain of popular use coffee is the Arabica over the more common and less flavorful robusta Arabica vs Robusta: No http://ineedcoffee.com/arabica-vs-robusta-no-contest/

Allow me to thank the United States..... After gays could get married in this country, I thought that we were in for a world of hate. Actually, the country sort of shrugged on entire matter. The poor Muslims became the source of hate. Since the haters lost on the gay issue, they are diverting their source of hate to a different group of people.... Muslims. It is a sad thing, when you think about it, but I owe the bigots one on this one. All this terrorism, bluster, and hate can be transferred to someone besides me, as a gay man.....

    Bless Allah!

    In what context?

Mandatory ritualistic chanting in the Christ-myth format? Of course not. As a comparative or cultural study? Of course.

Your dishonesty is on full display, once again:

    The calligraphy project was,

The first Pillar of Islam is called shahada. It is a brief prayer proclaiming the oneness of God and faith in Islam. Children memorize the shahada, an action which introduces them into the Islamic community. The shahada simply states:

“There is no God but Allah,
and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”

We do have some paranoid people in this country, some for no reason, other's for legitimate reasons. A couple of years ago, we were hosting a county-wide Speech & Debate tournament at my school, judges chambers while waiting for assignment's was in the media center. That room had four classrooms on the second floor with windows overlooking it. In one of the English teacher's rooms, there happened to be several poster boards, obviously placed there for storage, because they were an assignment. It was the week when all the county schools were studying the Nazi Holocaust, and one of the poster's was facing inward, and could be seen with Nazi regalia pasted on it, by the judges down below. Nobody noticed it, other than one paranoid guy, who wasn't even Jewish, and he complained we were teaching the students Nazism and wouldn't let go of the topic, demanding we open the room, and destroy the stack of poster's. Didn't have the janitorial key, so we let it stand after explaining the posters were part of a mandatory, American school study of the Holocaust, and the teacher had her students do poster boards. This guy actually called up the local television station in Miami, without even giving us a warning or a chance to respond, they sent their big antenna truck and a well known reporter, and the guy interrupted the entire tournament, to give an on-camera interview, without permission of the school administration, citing us as teaching students Nazism. It got worse - because of all things going on over a weekend in Miami, Florida, the news station led their nightly 6:00pm and 11:00pm newscasts with that interview, and never contacted the school administration for our input. They also ambushed the School Board director at his home for comments why one of his best schools, in one of the richest communities of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was TEACHING Nazism. Since I was the one who tried to tell the guy he was full of it, it was my responsibility to explain the entire situation to the Director of the School Board, and the Principal the next day - a Sunday - was called downtown to see them both. They attempted to get a retraction, or be allowed to give the truth about the harmless incident, the station would have none of it - and followed it up with another story about how the School Board and Principal were defending Nazi lessons. I came out of the school meeting with those two, about an inch shorter than I went in - and of course, the idiot who started it all never has been allowed to act as a S&D judge for the past five years. Some people are just paranoid and idiotic. This Arabic lesson - same type of thing - would probably, as one poster suggested - if you are giving that kind of assignment - look up some more generic language to copy. When you deal with religion and the schools, you have to be very, very careful, and also keep it fair. Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu and Christian Biblical phrases should also have been included. Such is America's paranoia..........

So - the numbers are slightly misleading? The USSR estimates they lost 20 million soldiers and 20 million civilians in World War II fighting Nazi Germany. Many of their own soldiers were butchered when they attempted to retreat from untenable, murderous combat where death was certain, and were gunned down by their own forces sitting back from the front line, to prevent retreat. Stalin himself, from the time he took power from Lenin, to when he died in 1953, I believe, is estimated to have murdered at least 20-25 million civilians and military personnel, including the majority of his General Staff. That mistake showed when the Red Army had so much difficulty defeating and occupying tiny neighbor Finland - although that military action and occupation did save Leningrad from falling to the Nazi's hammer blow, holding out for 981 days, one of the great, heroic stories of World War, which few know or care about, and our Western history books fail to mention............

Sarcasm dripping from this post. Perhaps examining the role of the Supreme Commander, Far East Forces, during and after World War II in the Pacific, General Douglas MacArthur, and his role in governing during the occupation of Japan; rebuilding its infrastructure; banking system; industry; education system; writing a new Western democracy-oriented constitution, had something to do with that "glow" the industrious Japanese people have. When the emperor mystique was revealed to them - they turned to America for their ideas, understanding that the disastrous war against them wasn't just won on the battlefield, but by a higher moral purpose, by an Army, Navy and Marine Corps which fought hard without hate, against a brainwashed Japanese military. For all his accomplishments as a soldier, including a Medal of Honor award, and his vainglorious and misguided ideas during Korea, which got him sacked by President Truman, Douglas MacArthur deserves tremendous credit for his guidance in rebuilding war torn Japan, and turning that country away from war and into a modern Western-style, economic giant, democracy. Kudos to the "Old Soldier who never dies, but quietly fades away."...........

    I didn't post an article.

Anyway, I don't think it's fair to compare a statement of Islamic faith to the Swastika. It's not a symbol, neither does it represent only people who have committed or are committing atrocities, just as a confession of Christian faith does not represent the occasional Christian criminal who thinks he's acting as a Christian.

Even FDR commented that the roundup of the Japanese-American civilians right after the sudden attack on Pearl Harbor was a mistake. It was done simply out of war hysteria. None of those rounded up and sent to work camps in the California mountains, died as a result of the concentration, they survived and Congress voted for a full apology and reparations to every one of them. It was a political mistake, not one that should really be compared to the German Nazi concentration camps, where everyone was to be killed.

Prejudice against Japan had been going on in America for a long time, from the time of the Navy Conference in 1920, when world leaders set the number of warships and tonnage that the industrialized nations could produce. Japan was a part of that conference, and gained a lot of leverage from its results, having come out of nowhere in 1905 to defeat Russia in the Russo-Japanese War (another one the Japanese started with a surprise attack). That conference allowed them to freely build a modern navy, and they built an excellent one, which they sent after Pearl Harbor, the Philippines and knocked out the British battleships the day after Pearl Harbor ('Prince Of Wales and the "Repulse'), when their carrier pilots caught the ships in the open sea out of Fortress Singapore, without air cover. The United States Navy had been teaching at Annapolis Naval Academy for years, on how to fight and defeat Japan, and the man in charge of the U.S. Navy in World War II, Admiral Ernest King, stated that after the Midway battle, we fought the Pacific War just like we had been practicing for the previous 20-years. American's were prejudiced toward Japanese, and when they hit Pearl Harbor - that prejudice boiled over, with the Yanks enlisting by the thousands everywhere, to pay back the yellow scum who attacked us. The greatest accomplishment America made in World War II, was Roosevelt and King convincing him to tackle Germany first, after Hitler declared war on us two days after Pear Harbor, and to let the Pacific War sit basically on hold. With our surprise at Midway and the destruction of the four front line carriers, and more importantly, killing 400 of their best pilots, who destroyed our Navy at Pearl Harbor, Germany first, along with the embarrassment cause by the Doolittle Raid over Tokyo, which destroyed nothing, but lifted American morale sky high, allowed us to wait in the Pacific and prepare and tackle the Nazi's first..........
