All schools shut down in Augusta County, Virginia, over Islam homework

Although there have been numerous holocausts' since the Nazi Germany one, that is the one that is a required 10th grade study in American public schools.

It is studied for three reasons;

1. Remember. We need to remember Nazi Germany's Holocaust against European Jewry, and every other person they considered unacceptable to the Aryan, master race. Six million Jews died in those concentration camps; another five million Slavs; Catholic priests; elderly and infirm; disabled; physically handicapped; homosexuals; Jehovah's Witnesses, and POW's also died in them for a total of 11 million killed on a Ford Motor Company assembly line basis. Every military leader from Hitler on down, and every industrialist in Germany was engaged in making money off of killing Jews, after confiscating everything they owned, and sending them off to slaughter.

2. Respect; Out of respect for those whose lives were lost, we maintain the vigilance, hopefully, that such a thing will never happen again. Unfortunately it has. Stalin and the USSR lost 40 million military and civilian lives in World War II and through reeducation. The numbers slaughtered after America left SE Asia and Vietnam are astronomical in the slaughter's in Laos and Cambodia. The constant Islamic-terrorists attacks against Israel continue to show that the idea of the Halocaust continues to exist. We must respect those whose lives we lost, and respect the idea that others have done and will do the same, given the opportunity. The Holocaust doesn't have to start in the jungles of Bolivia, or the streets of Havana, it can start in Ferguson, Missouri; South Central Los Angeles; Detroit; Southside Chicago, et al, and doesn't take much to indoctrinate young minds. The first thing Hitler did upon rising to power was to take total and complete control of the German education system, and total and complete control of the broadcast media - mainly radio at the time.

3. Probably the most important reason. To see what we might be capable of if we follow the wrong leader or the wrong message. Yes - us, good old USA, and any other Western democracy. Remember that Nazi Germany under Hitler was an educated; modern; industrialized; religious; white-populated Christian nation, and they instituted the Holocaust against European Jewry on such a horrible grand scale. History doesn't repeat itself, human error remains the same, and we commit the same type of errors as they committed in the past, and it appears history is repeating itself. War and Man's cruelty to man are two of the constant's of history and the human condition, and have never changed since caveman days.

It is important that our young high school children understand the lesson of Hitler's massacre, so they will recognize the signs brainwashing with the Big Lie - and recognize it when it is broadcast by the government. Following blind allegiance to the wrong leader's can lead to repetition of the Nazi holocaust massacre. Reverend James Jones - Jonestown experience, where everybody drank the poisoned kool aid is an example of following the wrong leader, with the wrong message. I am sure there are hundred's more, our children need to recognize the signals to avoid repeating the error, thus we study the Nazi Holocaust extensively in High School's, as a mandatory subject............

 

Well, if that's all it takes to get a day off, I'm gonna plan a lesson on Islamic calligraphy every Friday from now on!

I disagree, calligraphy lesson would imply you know the language, otherwise it's the lesson in achieving the likeness.

 

Yes, it really is an overreaction. Schools all over the United States teach the same lesson and use the same textbook and workbook, but this school system shut down the entire system over one workbook activity used in one class at one grade level.

 

Since I was quoted in your post, I'm responding. First, I'm an independent, not leftist and I didn't defend Muslims. If you think remaining ignorant about how world religions spread globally in a geography class is a good thing, you're welcome to your opinion. Since there are a billion + Muslims in the world, ignoring them just might make us safer, right? Sheesh!

I think crap like this is done on purpose to stir the pot. No rational person would just say " hey, in light of the recent psycho Muslim events how about we do some calligraphy in class and write out God is great on Arabic" .

Absolutely; it would give the kids a perfect lesson in why the 'Aryan' people are not the master race. Then, perhaps, they could ask teacher why many Americans assume themselves to be masters of the world.

You think shutting an entire school system down, from grades K-12, over one activity, on one workbook page, in one class, at one grade level is perfectly sane and not overreacting. I think it's an overreaction.

World Geography is a required class for almost every ninth grader in the country, and many use the same textbooks and workbooks. None of those other school systems shut down over the activity, therefore in your opinion, I defend Muslims.

I wouldn't even try to guess your political or ideological affiliations. I just know you judge people incorrectly. I was judging the decision of the school system and the administration that made it. It was news, you know, because of the extreme reaction the administrators took and similar to the one that closed the Los Angeles Unified System before checking with law enforcement and the FBI.
