Man kicked out of all-you-can-eat buffet after eating more than 50 lbs of food, sues

He's probably on disability, I'm a bit big and like to eat but not like that by a long shot. But its all you can eat so why kick him out?

 

The business was dumb for not making a time limit if in fact they didn't. In my state most businesses reserve the right to refuse service for any reason. The act of giving him his money back was an act to refuse service. I doubt it will be profitable for him to seek damages

I'm guessing the manager suffers from some sort of bigotry towards over weight people. That is likely why they kicked him out. What a good manager would have done was let him finish and then change the rules after they closed.

 

Yes of course that is one of the problems with our system in that for lack of a better word we are often too "liberal" in our definitions of what is a disease. That type of thinking can lead to a situation that a pedophile would be considered a mentally disturbed sub-human rather than a criminal sub-human. That is the problem with extreme thinking be it liberal or conservative.

Yup, someone didn't think through the possibilities and didn't make a "get out clause" in the fine print.

 

Let's assume that this story is actually true - I don't do to all you can eat too often but my veterans group likes to go for our Christmas "dinner" so if I saw a pig that size at the place where we go I would lose my appetite. I think that having a pig that size eating there would cut down on how much people eat at such places.

 

Or people are so highly partisan that they glomerular on to the improbable to bolster their own feelings of self worth.

They have had that policy for years. Between Walmart and Golden Corral, on any given day, it looks like a whale convention. I watched a guy eat nine plates of shrimp at a Golden Corral once, made me so disgusted, I left without finishing my meal, he needed two chairs and an entire table by himself. Each time they refilled the shrimp boat, he was first in line and took them all.

Just the optics of this are incredibly ugly, any wonder the guy is on welfare - look at him. An all-you-can-eat, usually allows 2-3 visits or has a time limit, or is set up for an appetizer, not everything on the menu. Seconds on a meal usually is sufficient for just about anybody, families go to Golden Corral with kids for the all-you-can eat. There is no way the guy looking like this can be hungry, it would take a concentration camp diet about a year for him to lose any weight. Addicted to eating is what his problem is, not hunger.

Either way, a case like this is civil not criminal - if it actually goes to court - I can't imagine a judge, or a jury in the land, that would support this guy in any settlement, particularly after the restaurant gave him a monetary offer. Glutton on both counts - 9-hours eating straight in a restaurant? Give me a break...........

There is no cause of action because they refunded his money. There is no law prohibiting discrimination against fat people.

I doubt they would have thrown out a minority because of all the headaches it would cause.

 

I usually get a main dinner plate and bread, hearty favoring proteins and one starch. Then a no sugar/no sugar added dessert feast. Then wait chatting before getting fillers. The only exception of I get a custom item or two then I might make a trip to get an omelet or burger fixed up. But those are one item on one plate tossing on some French fries or a side not stacking it.

Oh and maybe make a little sundae to top it all off or get a cone.

But its all I eat during the day and usually one in a great while between Golden Coral trips.

 

After he ate the second waitress he should have had to go.

I can't imagine the human body processing 50lbs. of food in one sitting. I'm thinking his colon raised a white flag in surrender a long time ago.

 

Why? Is it because the race card is never, ever played? Ever? Cops can't even give out traffic tickets without it being racist...sorry, wrong use of the word...discriminatory.
