Sounds like a great reason to pull out of Iraq and Asscrackistan. Close all those bases and bring those troops home. I fail to see the downside.

I agree. US should stop meddling in others affairs. Russians decide they need more room in Lithuania, the US shouldn't lift a finger other than to affect the safe repatriotation of Americans in the war zone.

Ironic, in one week Trump has done more damage to the relations with our European allies than has ever occurred since WWII.

One week of Trump and Europeans are no longer viewing the US as a reliable ally.

Trump has been coasting on bravado and his father's money for decades.. He's not smart or good or well educated.. Early last year I really hoped Trump was the right stuff.. and sadly he isn't. He's quite ordinary trash.

This may well end in a Civil War if he isn't removed.

The US and UK are undefeated in wars against Germany. We care nothing for their insignificant economy.

The abject failure of their country to defend itself had a lot more to do with appeasement of Germany and failing to see the obvious than with numbers in uniform.

The French resistance did perform well, but it was also a very small percentage of the population. A smaller percentage than those that had no issues subjugating themselves to the Germans just to have an easy life.

We had a choice between him and Hillary Clinton so lets not act like their was a better choice out there. Maybe the idiots on both sides of the aisle should be blamed for selecting the 2 worst candidates this country has ever seen.

Well, I guess the dems can claim innocence on that, the party, not the voters, selected their candidate. Kind of ironic that the democrats forego the democratic process in the selecting of their candidate. Maybe there is a lesson there.

 

Mm, French social cohesion was a major problem during WWII, and French leadership was entirely incapable of holding itself together.

Their army was plenty big enough and well-enough equipped to deal with the Germans, at least to hold them off until more support arrived. Psychological factors do play a major role in warfare, and among the French, especially the leadership, a certain kind of hopelessness and fatalism gripped the French military.

The American military in Vietnam would suffer similar morale problems.

 

But Europe wants you to lead and solve the world's problems. They're tired of the U.S. and they want you to do it.

I don't think you (or anyone else in Europe) is up to it.

 

They will have already surrendered
