After the G7 train wreck chancellor Merkel said in a speech in Munich, that the USA are not a trustworthy partner anymore: MOD EDIT>>>RULE 1, ENGLISH ONLY<<< http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/merkel-trump-1.4136906 Merkel said that times changed and it is time to move on. Thats a historic event. Germany and USA have been close allies for almost 60 years. That the chancellor openly breaks with this shows, that there is no common ground for any further development. She went on and said it is in German and European interest to have at least good relations. She also mentions russia as partner when possible. Meanwhile Trump made one of his usual Twitter comments: "Just returned from Europe. Trip was a great success for America. Hard work but big results!"
Well, he's right about one thing. No longer being considered trust worthy is a big result. Although not the desired result. When does the winning kick in?
"Es müsse natürlich bei der Freundschaft zu den USA und Großbritannien bleiben." Translation: There must remain of course with the friendship to the USA and Great Britain. For those of us who understand what she was talking about, let me just say that the speech had everything to do with the European Union compact and offered nothing as a rebuke of the US or UK. Trump was right. His trip was very successful.
Ah yes and when the Obama administration spied on Merkel it was really just a trust raising exercise because we're such close partners.
LOL screw these globalists in Europe. We should let Islam take over that spineless continent. No sympathy for the stupid or weak.
Merkel? I wouldn't worry about Russian tanks rolling into Berlin, I would worry about her killing her country with Muslim immigrants...
I don't think you should post an article in German without carefully putting things into context for the rest of us. You post the article and, without quoting it, immediately jump to a radical interpretation of it.
Refugees and Immigrants are already positioned and poised to destroy the social climate of the country. The US can't help Europe this time around because their problem exists from within their own borders.
Does Merkel believe that her liberal US legislator friends would vote to authorize US military intervention on behalf of German sovereignty? Good luck with that frau Merkel.
Trumpers are choosing evil. Nothing more to it. US President Donald Trump told his Philippines' counterpart that he was doing a good job fighting an illegal drug epidemic https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=trump+duterte&spf=1495984864849 Controversial Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte has admitted killing suspected criminals during his time as mayor of Davao City. "In Davao, I used to do it personally. Just to show the guys that, if I can do it, why can't you?" Duterte said. http://www.cnn.com/2016/12/14/asia/duterte-philippines-davao-killings/index.html Trumpers have sided with cold-blooded murderers. That makes them just as bad as the men committing mass murder.
When you look at the trip in it's entirety, even the MSM grudgingly gives him positive credit. Merkel's reaction was expected. They've had their way with the USA for a long time, and like a petulant child not used to being disciplined, she's lashing out. Trump called Germany out for not paying their fair share for defense, despite running huge surpluses, largely on the back of the US. He also legitimately took Germany to task for other miscellaneous issues. This is a far cry from the US complicity taking in the rear while Obama was yucking it up and being a good ol' boy with his "good friend" Merkel. Let's see how many overpriced BMWs Russia buys if she turns her back on America.
Germany is one of the most powerful economies on the globe. Russia not even a 3rd grade economy. The state of Bavaria alone has a more powerful economy than entire russia. Also Germany is a nuclear power, with more than 2500 tons of Plutonium as well as Deuterium, Germany can build any form of nuclear weapon within days. . Nations like Germany are untouchable. Same counts for France, UK, Italy, Japan, Australia and New Zealand and Canada. I think one should understand that no one here takes the "russian scare" serious. In all honestly i dont understand the fuss here. Merkel said whats true. USA under Trump is no Partner Germany could trust. Thats a fact. It doesnt mean cooperation in certain fields ends. Its more an internal statement. Germany would act stupid if we do as nothing changed. I expect from my chancellor to react to changing diplomatic environments. And thats exactly what she does in that case.
The only thing I'd be worried about is their power over your energy supply. But no, they won't invade Germany.
That is NOT what the article said. You are evidently from Germany and should know better than to try to fool mostly non-German speakers on this forum. Doubling down on a LIE is not very impressive.
You seem deluded about Germany and Russia. Germany's economic power will be of no consequence if Russia chooses to exert its military power against it. The US is an ally of the German people. Your interpretation of what Merkel says and does is meaningless here; Merkel knows that her stance wrt Muslim immigration has her squarely in the crosshairs of many across the globe, and many in her own country. You cannot even get right what Merkel said. You are not credible. I am fine if the US disregards most of what Merkel says and does.
After eight tears with the Obama administration appeasing and giving Europe, Latin Americas and Islam everything they wanted and America getting nothing in exchange, looks like with Trump as POTUS it's America first from now on.
