Because it will not only prevent first-timers from countries that sponsor terrorism from getting here if they have terror tendencies, but it will stop these people from going back to their origination countries to be radicalized (if they aren't already) and to train. And if they do find a way to go over, they will have trouble getting back. Good. It's about the only thing that can be done, as our civil rights laws prevent law enforcement to intervene before a terrorist has actually committed a crime.

I saw Susan Rice on TV and she said "There is no evidence that a muslim ban would make us any safer." Honestly...bull. Example: I'm in a room with three alligators. Two of them want to kill me, but one doesn't. You might say removing the alligators is mean or you might say it isn't fair to alligator #3 to remove alligators especially if I'm unsure which ones are the ones who want to kill me, but how can anyone say removing all three of the alligators wouldn't make me safer? Just common sense.

    WOW.
Where on earth do you live that you are so petrified by fear?
I have a blanket I can sell you - pacifier optional.
I worked in Manhattan often in 2000 - 2002 - had a front-row seat for 9/11- went to work the next day - I was not fearful of any terrorist - I was more concerned with an 'merican wacko with a gun - the odds were - and are - far higher.
I suspect you don't know that the vast majority of the 9/11 hijackers came from SAUDI ARABIA, but Saudi Arabia isn't on the ban list????
BOO! (sorry to scare you - no, I'm not).

Almost none of the terrorists attacks on the US came from the countries on the banned list. ;)

Two out of three Muslims want to kill you? Is that why we have hundreds of murders committed by Muslims against non-Muslims every day in this country?

The woman who shot up Sam Bernardino came from Saudi Arabia too (she was Pakistani by birth). She killed more Americans than citizens of the 6 nations on the ban list combined.

I wonder how well this ban helped out those people who got shot in Orlando this morning?

Yes, that's right, take notice from Europe until it's not too late.

Nor would her husband, who was from Chicago. Nor the Orlando nightclub shooter, who was from New York.

No she wouldn't. Nor would most of the 9/11 hijackers.

I have yet to hear of an act of terrorism committed in this country by a citizen of Yemen or Syria. Yet Trump is trying to pass this ban off to "make us safer" - and his ignorant-to-the-reality supporters are lapping up his words like kittens with a saucer of cream. Disturbing.

Wrong again. Iraq. Mostly former Bathists.

By the way...Trumps Muslim travel ban is a temporary 90 day ban...which if it had been instituted when originally proposed would be either over or almost over now.

Guess it wasn't needed because no people from those countries attacked us

The entire idea behind the ban was to play to the Breitbart base

Some want to change the subject, which is always suspect. I am truly not scared. But it is ludicrous to say if you remove a threat that it won't make us safer.

I would be more interested in a ban on any country that is in disorder or an avowed enemy. So if we included countries like North Korea, Venezuela, Central African Republic and the Congo I would be all about his travel restrictions.

I bet you sleep with a light on.
It is ludicrous to think banning Muslims from countries that have not sent terrorists would do any good - why do you think so? Because a proven liar said so? He said it was needed immediately - what has happened without it? NOTHING.
    Wise up.

Again...you're supporting a temporary ban that if it had been implemented would be over now...and in that time no attacks have been made by refugees or anyone this would have impacted.

I did work in the towers several days - not on 9/11 - I hated it because I smoked at the time and it took forever to get outside for a smoke.
There were some guys who saw the planes hit the towers and said "hey, we could be next" and left work for home.
If you're a Hoosier, what would you know about it?

We already have extreme vetting in place. It has been for over a decade. It takes over two years for the immigration process to be completed. Trump complains the countries involved are not capable of vetting. That may be true. This is also true. If a person's paperwork is absent or incomplete, if the vetting process cannot be completed, that person doesn't enter the U.S. That's the law, and it has been in place for a long time.

What is the travel ban supposed to protect us from? Trump signed the second travel ban over three months ago. It restricts travel from six Muslim countries who have never committed a terrorist act in the U.S. for three months. Nothing has happened during those three months the ban was suspended by the courts. SCOTUS may rule on the matter in three to four months, once again exceeding the length of the travel ban itself.

Isn't that just a little bit ridiculous?

The travel ban is itself ridiculous. Obviously, it is aimed at preventing Muslim terrorists from entering our country. The travel ban exempts 87% of the Muslim population.

There has not been a successful terrorist attack in the U.S. by a foreign terrorist since 9/11. Our extreme vetting that has been in place long before Trump ever took office works.

The travel ban is completely unnecessary. As a matter fact, a travel ban on predominantly Muslim countries is counter-productive. It angers the very countries from whom we need help in combating Islamic terrorism. Abandoning the effort is more prudent.

    It is just common sense.
