As the forum is 99% right wing and always demanding that people exercise their Second Amendment rights, they should be in a rage over this incident and demand that the public employ their guns to take revenge on that criminal cop. Agree?
I don't believe that the Second Amendment includes the right to summarily execute a policeman after the fact. Feel free to discuss otherwise.
The Second Amendment certainly allows people to use weaponry in order to avoid government repression. Pro gun right wingers say that on this forum every day. But for some reason they refuse to affirm this idea when people are harassed by cops. Why the sudden silence?
I want to see forum pro gun right wingers bring him to justice. Let's see those who affirm the 2d Amendment demand the same. If you fail to do so then you invalidate all your claims about gun rights.
I finished my container of butter pecan last night. Will buy some more tomorrow. Hopefully by then you will have exercised your 2d Amendment rights and obligations and taken corrective action for this incident:
I'm sorry, but what criminality do you assign to the officer involved? I hate video snippets that don't tell the whole story. We don't know what's happening here. You have a person down on the ground, and officers clearly engaged in taking them into custody. Officers are gesturing to the videographer and to others off screen, clearly giving orders to step back, apparently in an effort to control the situation, which based on what I see probably involved a takedown of a potentially violent suspect. As often happens, friends and family of the suspect can become confrontational and themselves violent. We don't know how many times the woman in the video ignored orders to stay back, or what her behavior was leading up to the, what, three seconds of video before she lunges into frame? I see no evidence, based on what I see here, that the officer's actions were inappropriate. Do you have evidence to the contrary?

Interesting. Well, it is New York, and New York's position on Constitutional issues is often suspect. That said, I still don't see anything in the video to automatically assume the officer's actions were inappropriate. They did say they'd already used a taser on the woman, so her actions were clearly already aggressive prior to the video's beginning. Barring new information, I'll withhold judgement on the officer's actions.
And New York State has a very huge Law Enforcement community that varies widely. As someone that worked within that community, that statement you made was untrue or not accurate. New York City is vastly different from New York State. Most people say New York and are reffering to New York City, since it is the more common place (Default) to reference to as far as abuse of Rights.
You will note my original comment was to state that New York's position on Constitutional issues is "often suspect." Sorry, so long as the anti-gun minions run that state from New York city the entire state's position is, indeed, often suspect. In no way was what I said untrue. Hell, I even left some room to acknowledge there are those LEO's in NY whose behavior is not suspect. But when people can get arrested in NY simply because they missed a connection on a flight....? Sorry, don't see where my comments were inappropriate in any way.
I guess we are making this thread a firearm discussion area, so here is one for ya turtle, or anyone with knowledge. I have have an old browning A5. I was trying to put a date to it. Browning website says anything pre WWII is at best a guess. Nramuseum.org puts it at 1924. What do you think? Serial number is 672XX. Obviously the last two digits are numbers.
TD What do you think about this for a first gun? I'm 65 years old. Haven't shot since I was a sprout with a 22 target rifle. Love the design compared to any other I've seen. So many look badly proportioned. Haven't shot it yet. thx `
I don't know anything about them, but if you plan to move up to a 9mm at some point, having a training gun with the same dimensions can be very helpful.
I don't know the manufacturer, but there are plenty of quality .22s out there. I'd stick with something reputable such as Ruger. .22s are relatively cheap to shoot, but considering you're going to be spending a few hundred dollars on one, I'd go ahead and buy a 9mm. Not as cheap to shoot, but great for both shooting and self-defense. http://www.range365.com/10-best-22lr-handguns https://www.nrafamily.org/articles/2016/8/12/first-time-handgun-buyers-guide/ https://www.ammoland.com/2013/02/a-guide-in-the-purchase-of-your-first-handgun/ https://www.pewpewtactical.com/best-handgun-pistol-for-beginners-home-defense-2/
We have a few Umarex guns. they work pretty well for a while. The smith and wesson MP 22 (not the compact) is made by the same company. My wife shoots steel leagues with it. She is on her second one. The first one started gagging up after about 15,000 rounds. SW sent us a new one (which she hasn't started using yet-we bought a second one). So the designs are sound and reliable, and as long as you aren't shooting it 100 rounds a week for three straight years as she did, it should be fine The beretta size is easy to shoot in my hands Most of those like hi speed 22 ammo. Easily available, the Federal AUTO MATCH works well with them SO does CCI Mini Mags but they are more expensive, there are two essential 22 pistol designs. Stuff like the RUGER MARK IV (great pistol btw) or the equally good Browning BUCK MARK (I recommend highly) that are original designs Then there are 22s that are supposed to look like centerfire pistols like that copy of the 92 beretta . some of those are extremely high quality like the KIMBER 1911 in 22 or the discontinued and coveted CZ KADET (which I compete with) that is a CZ 75. those built on the centerfire lowers are very durable. The UMAREX brand is good quality but uses some pot metal in the guns. as I noted, they work well but they aren't going to something your grandson teaches his kids to shoot with
Like the look of the CZs! The Kadet, and the 75. Going to look closer. Thx Came across https://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?p=4620334 as a first gun purchase, no less. +
I am a serious competitive shooter the KADET is no longer made but you can buy a conversion kit that fits on the cz 75. I am using a highly customized CZ custom shop CTS for one division and a new SHADOW II for the stock division and a Czechmate race gun for the unlimited division My wife shoots a TS in one division, a Parrot in unlimited and a 75 Custom shop Shadow in another, Son shoots a SP 01 Shadow target in one, a CZechmate in another, so we are big cz fans, back tomorrow-have a pistol match in the AM got to get up early
I looked, found mostly conversion kits, but a few for sale slightly used. How do you feel about a used gun? Of course, you (not me) have vast exprience inspecting them. I assume no warranty in that case either? But I am very net savvy, may come up with a NOS/Mint one yet. I like the idea having a really well made/almost-classic-already piece. thx again +
