Yes the truth actually is amazing. But I do understand how people of faith and particularly biblical literalists must reject such evidence out of hand.

It validates even more Israel’s legitimacy to sovereign nation free to govern its own affairs.

Israel has been treated egregiously unfairly by the U.N. and most nations in the world for reasons hard to be sure, but it included self interests and placating Arab states at the expense of justice.

Jerusalem is Judaism. More than Mecca is Islam. Jerusalem was never given to the Palestinians in any British or U.N. proposal. It was to be an international city both free to live and worship in. It was after the 1948 war Jordan became its occupier of East Jerusalem and Israel occupied West Jerusalem until after the 1967 war Israel took over East Jerusalem but treated the Arabs there with more fairness and unharming than any other nation would be so kind in similar situations. To deny Israel the right to have Jerusalem as its capital and govern it wisely for all is just another cowardly capitulation to the angry, never the least bit satisfied Islamic viperous mindset. Two million Arabs in the rest of Israel live and prosper without problems, but I guess the Arab nations will always prefer war to peace for their families, even though since 1967 Israel has been the occupier all of Jerusalem they have nothing of injustice to point to.

Israel is treated far more than fair by the UN. It's simply totally out of the question that you colonize lands that you're occupying. It's completely illegal and is mentioned in 1 breath with ethnic cleansing -which is what Israel also does- in the Geneva Conventions. Israel does that. And it's only because of the US and the Jewish lobby around the world that Israel is able to even have this as an active policy for half a century.

Just look at the Crimea and Russia. Same thing. And Russia is sanctioned all over the place for it exceptionally harsley.

It never was given to Israel in any British or UN proposal

Jews ethnic cleansed about 40% of the population of their country to become the majority that they are today. The minority that remains, are discriminated all over the place. Jews get massive amount of aid to get them educated, while there is not even a single one university that teaches in Arab. It's all aimed to make Arabs 2nd class citizens in a country where they ones were the majority. The right of return is denied by ethnicity on purpose. Apartheid state at it's finest.

The Bible is history. It documents the struggles of the Jewish people. You don't have to believe in God to know that.

Agreed. The US funds 22% of the UN budget. We should just resign and give them a date to get the **** out then turn the UN building into condos. I know where we can find a real estate guy. :)

It provides a romanticized origin story, that is largely either contradicted or unsubstantiated by archaeological evidence.

Well, that is were Jesus was born and he was a Jew. It was occupied by the Roman Empire, which doesn't mean it didn't exist.

I think there is plenty of archaeological evidence.

The UN owns the land. They are welcome to stay if they can get around to paying their parking and other traffic tickets.

Zionists always treated Arab Christians and Muslims rather badly. That's why they shot them when they tried to return to Israel and why they looted a leveled over 300 Arab villages in 1947-1948.

There's a reason those "returning" Arabs were shot in "1947-1948"

Yes, families and unarmed men always flee a war zone.. The Zionists destroyed their villages.. just as Chaim Weizmann asked the US to pay for the forced removal of the rest of the Palestinians in 1950, but ARAMCO and Ibn Saud would have none of it.

Nice spin. Several Arab nations attack Israel and you blame Israel for creating a "war zone".

Back to the UN, the US should withdraw their membership. It's rarely served the function it was designed to do and have become so politicized, that it's detrimental to peace.

The Arabs weren't consulted when their ancestral homes were given away... when their homes, orchards, farms and villages were given to European refugees.

    Its the same now.

That would be what Jordan did in 1967. Relinquished any and all claims that they had to the territory

Neither were the Jews in Germany and Mother Russia. Human beings are terrible to each other.

OTOH, why do you always focus on "the Jooos" and nobody else?

Do you think the Palestinians should pay with their blood and their homes for the Holocaust in Europe?

No that is not true. In 88 he ceded all claims to the West Bank to the PLO.

I don't think anyone should pay with blood, but that's the way of the world. Do you think 39 million Russians should have paid in blood to Stalin so he could industrialize Mother Russia? Do you think Ukrainians should pay in blood so Russia can have a warm water seaport for their warships?

Zionism wasn't that popular with European Jews, but they were turned away by the US , UK, Cuba and others... so they were forced on the Palestinians.
