Au contraire... just read today the FDC removed all ties to cancer from bacon. Not nearly as unhealthy as we've been told. They just don't want us to have the good stuff. :(

Bacon is still chock full of fatty grease.Do you not believe that all
that grease in a pan of frying bacon is bad for You.
Explain how it could possibly be good.
    I'm willing to listen.

I dont eat that grease. Nor do I suck on the paper towels after microwaving bacon.

Bacon is hi protein and if one doesnt have high cholesterol, theres no reason to avoid it.

    Want a blt?

Not against Protein,I am.But saturated fat or dripping grease
may appeal to most all dogs but Not many health conscience
grown adults. Not that I'm any vegan, but those like Christie Brinkley
probably have more zip & zing every day than any bacon eater.
Yes,donuts and a candy bar offer instant energy,Like soda pop.
But it wears off almost as fast.Think of it like Liquor. It quickly
gives energy as a mood enhancer. But it wears off.Making for
    alcoholics.

It's like a disease. This compulsion to need bacon.Like the new
{ Last few years } Jerky being sold.Like every month or so a New form
of Jerky comes out.And it's always costly.Even Pet jerky.
It's a racket. While Soda Pop is at an all time low as in price.
I remember well as a young teen those long skinny plastic wraps
of Slim Jim.I loved that stuff. But at that time it was priced out of reach
    for teens.Plus it wasn't offered everywhere.I worked 2 summers at a
Marina that carried those Slim Jim's.I dunno ... Maybe it was considered more
    a vacation survival food item.
Trends are OK with me.Just don't bank on me subscribin'.
I never bought or wanted a Nehru jacket.Never owned a Leisure suit.
Or some that Disco clothing.I did however buy a pair of Huggy Bear'
big heeled disco clod hoppers. It had more to do with me working as
summer landscaper.Cutting lawns. There was this Black Kid and his
cousin who took a bus out to the burbs and one of the lawn crews
picked them up each morn at a bus stop. The One Black dude always wore
a big Pimp hat and his thick and long heeled disco shoes.I figured he wouldn't
last half a summer. But he did.He usually just sat on a riding lawnmower doing
the apartments.I,on the other hand manned a professional walking lawnmower
a Jake { Jacobsen } self propelled mean ass cutting machine. It had forward
controls on the handle bar and one had to be really careful. It would pull
the crap outta ya,if you weren't careful and familiar with the operation.
But there was no pushing whatever. And it was fast.

Americans are not mostly jewish or muslim, swine was one of the important food groups that helped to make America great by good christians who didn't see it as a sin.

preservatives make natural foods bad, not animals who eat their own young or poop.

So, what started this bacon fad? I figure it must have been a TV show or a really good advertising campaign.

I like bacon as well as the next guy, but it's not the first thing that comes to mind.

Besides, kimchi is the world's greatest food, so why would I aim for less?

Kimchi has a notorious rep for smelling pretty awfull.
After all it's cabbage in a jar fermented underground.
    Like during the Middle Ages.
Lots of stuff smell funny that taste really good.Like Creamed
Herring.I'm trying to think of that stuff that is supposed to be
so awful smelling just by opening the tin one is almost guaranteed
to gag. It's from Sweden and comes in a tin.
    Surstromming .

How so.You mean like my Grandmother used to.Made the pasta
from scratch and also the meatballs.Oh ! You meant you prepared
or fixed a spaghetti and meatballs meal. How do we know you dint merely open
a can of Chef Boyardee.Things a little more complicated once outside
Texas ... Not as simple as Judge Roy Bean's Court proceedings in Vinegarroon.
    Or maybe the way Jack Lemmon fixed his spaghetti in - The Apartment - {1960}
using his tennis racket as strainer.
