And you are perfectly justified in rejecting the findings of bearingarms.com for the same reason.

Such is claimed, but there is no evidence to demonstrate precisely how such is the case. Even if a state was completely devoid of any regulation pertaining to firearm, all federal restrictions and regulations would still be in place. Is it being claimed that federal regulations and restrictions pertaining to firearms are lax in their nature?

CDC data has been presented that showed that the firearm suicide rate post-Heller increased less than the overall suicide rate, and signficantly less that the hanging/suffocation suicide rate.

FBI data showed that the homicide rate in Washington DC, the only locale where Heller increased availability of firearms, declined from 31.5 to 20.4 from 2008 to 2016.

There is no data that supports any causal relationship alluded to in the OP.

Why is "easy" a concern, if "harder" doesn't stop any criminal who wants a gun from getting a gun?

Of course. But if we can set some reasonable laws to reduce it we should

I think waiting periods have been suggested by more than one poster here. Don't you remember?

No gun control methods can reduce or prevent suicide, since guns are not needed to commit suicide.

A Lie, since Science cannot prove any such thing, and you never produce any actual proof.

Let us say X year there were 100 suicides by firearms.

The next year, there were 80 suicides by firearms,

    you say look !
    a 20 % reduction in suicides,
which is spurious reasoning, since suicides are still committed by substitution, if firearms are unavailable to the one intending suicide.

You keep forgetting how many people commit suicide without firearms and the countless cases I have personally investigated.

"Now it’s official — having access to a gun significantly increases the risk of homicide and suicide.....

"Andrew Anglemyer, PhD, MPH and colleagues reviewed 15 published studies comparing the odds of being a victim of suicide or homicide between persons with and without access to firearms. All but one of the 15 studies reviewed reported significantly increased odds of suicide and homicide victimization associated with firearm access. 'To our knowledge,' said Anglemyer, 'this is the first systematic review and meta-analysis to estimate the association between firearm accessibility and suicide or homicide victimization.' "
    http://physiciansnews.com/2014/01/23/guns-at-home-increase-risk-of-death/

Study after study keeps reaching the same conclusion: guns kept at home are a significant risk factor for homicide and suicide.

More hoakum, 17 % sure, among what group ?
First time gun buyers in what inner cities ?

In N.Y.C. you can't even hold a gun without a
N.Y.P.D. document, yet N.Y.C. has a very high rate of Crime and illegal firearms among Criminals as I saw personally.

And what do Minority Community leaders do ?
    Complain how Police target minorities.

I would sit in a Utility's Truck on a corner and take high resolution pictures of criminals selling illegal items and brandishing firearms etc, and once enough evidence is documented, buys from undercover Detectives, warrants obtained, and criminals arrested.

Crime in major Cities such as N.Y.C., falls due to proactive Police work, not because of Gun control that limits guns to law abiding citizens, yet criminals can obtain any type of gun on the black market with enough cash very quickly as we did in BUY & BUST joint task force operations, combined State & Municipal Police departments and F.BI., A.T.F., D.E.A. etc.....

And this is contradictory to the F.B.I. U.C.R.
That states mere statistics in crime are often misleading and do NOT take into account many important factors and variables relating to crime.

In what way are waiting periods Constitutional, effective, enforceable and necessary, or do you have some other definition if "reasonable"?

This study ignores the substitution effect of long guns for handguns and for other homicide methods for handguns, and presumed that waiting periods for handguns not only allow someone to cool down with regards to guns but also prevent those hot headed would be killers from acquiring nonfirearm weapons for homicide.

Presuming that you still consider a waiting period reasonable, what is a reason waiting period to purchase a handgun? What makes that period reasonable in comparison to that period plus one more day? Is there a maximum number of days in a waiting period that a state could require?

Can any if these studies quantify that actual risk? Are you citing these studies to support some reasonable gun control that would actually reduce the number if households with guns?

Does owning a car increase the risk of dying in a motor vehicle accident?

Ok, lets make it simple, lets forget all about the Constitutional implications, and have an imaginary license and Registry of all firearms as well as carry, which exists now in theory as I will show in it's place.

We have one Example of Universal Federal Gun Control even the Gun Control Advocates ignore.

There is the A.T.F. issued C&R License to purchase many types of eligible firearms including some classic machine guns, to enhance a personal firearms collection, $25 for 5 years, use it once or twice, it pays for itself.

Modify it to include, all firearms for personal use and Nationwide concealed carry, ( precedent concealed carry under LEOSA ) and included firearms safety training under similar format to hunter safety classes.

On a voluntary basis, as is the C&R license for those that want such a thing.

Those that do not wish, can continue using the customary methods in existence.

One important often ignored fact, no matter how Criminals obtain fireams, they get caught soon enough.
It does not take a Police Officer much to realise what person is carrying illegally not counting some mistakes made, as I witnessed on occasion.

The risk studies point to Ghetto dwellers and firearms in abnormal settings and circumstances involving unsecured guns in homes of already prohibited persons involved in Gangs and illegal drugs and other Crimes and criminal activities.

Example: New York City; use an unregistered unlicensed handgun to defend yourself, as in
The People v Bernard Goetz ie the State of New York.
Goetz was found guilty of Felony possesion of a revolver. 5 years.......
