Dayum dude....you must have some scary ass enemies lookin' ta kill you. If any of them dare to invade your fortress they will probably regret it. Fortunately the rest of us are not at risk the way you are and just have druggies and thieves to deal with.
Admittedly I am not trained military or facing Palestinian terrorists, I just don't want kids shot for going to school. Tell me though...do you just lack imagination or is it empathy?

An arm being easily transportable by an able bodied person is not just the only arms covered by the 2A.

It's pretty much any and all of them from muskets to nukes.

    The ballot box says otherwise.
It does. In 2-3 more days, if not sooner, the news coverage moves on and it gets forgotten.
    Why?
Rational, reasoned people are not swayed by fallacious appeals to emotion, ignorance and/or dishonesty.

    Not exactly.
The NRA took the position the ATF should look at them again.
The ATF decided as it did because there's no law that bans them.
the NRA knows this and so knows the ATF will take the same position.

Other developed countries laugh at our idea to have armed guards at schools. They don't need them.....they have gun control

Other than Israel I know of no country that has armed guards at all their schools.

An overwhelming majority of Americans say that Congress and President Trump are not doing enough to prevent mass shootings after the student massacre in Parkland, Fla., according to a new poll.

Congress fares worth than Trump, however, and 77% of respondents told a Wasington Post-ABC survey that they strongly or somewhat agree with the idea that legislators need to do something.

Roughly 62% of those polled, including nearly 30% of Republicans, said that President Trump is not doing enough to stop shootings such as the one carried out by 19-year-old former Marjory Stoneman Douglas High student Nikolas Cruz against his ex-classmates.

I'm at no more risk than anyone else, and probably at less risk than most due to the relatively safe part of the country I live in. But as a law-enforcement agent I've seen the aftermath of home invasions where the family inside was unprepared, and I will never let such happen to me. "Druggies"? I've seen a meth addict ready to kill a person because the addict realized how much of his drug of choice he could buy if he stole that person's iPad. That same addict was tackled and handcuffed and was still trying to use his teeth to rip the throats out of the arresting officers because he knew his arrest meant he wouldn't have access to his drugs if he went inside.

You can be insulting all you want. I have enough imagination (and experience) to know that gun control doesn't protect kids and proper security measures do... and I have the empathy to want to see those kids effectively protected, not saddle them with an empty, childish policy pushed by ignorant and weak people who are frantic to abdicate their own responsibilities. The Beslan massacre - and the security recommendations that came out of it - shows us that it is best to protect our kids; not strip their parents of their Constitutional rights... or do you lack the empathy and imagination to understand that??

So you're conceding that your so called solution to the problem was about as effective as a drug induced drum circle for all the effect it had on the Cruz case, but at least they did something, right?

Much much much more needs to be done. I am happy to concede that. But the gop plan for expanded thoughts and prayers are about as effective as a drum circle.

If you think that's the GOP plan, it's evident that you haven't been listening to the GOP. I have been listening to you. Your suggestion regarding mental health funding was already in place. It was not a barrier to Cruz's behavior. Your suggestion regarding background checks and permitting were already in place. Cruz passed the background check because there was nothing actually recorded in his background despite multiple efforts by society to get him classified as a danger. Lanza got access to a semi-auto rifle despite Connecticut's strict permitting policy. Your suggestions have been shown to be ineffective.

Doing a useless thing is worse than doing nothing.

And I have been listening to you. And I hear no plan beyond expanded thoughts and prayers. Give us the details of your plan.

Your suggestions have left us with a need to order more little coffins.

It certainly seems to be a peculiarly American problem. Nobody else has weekly mass shootings.

But then when 4% of the planet owns half the civilian-held guns in the world, it's not really surprising.

they have older more homogenous a small population, but I'm sure you factored that in right? Of course you didn't you never have why would you start now. Oh and they don't drug the **** out of little boys and trip them like lepers so that by the time they hit sixteen they are nihilistic drug zombies with no respect for any human life including their own.

Most assistance is going to be done at the state level. I think you will find that Florida does not spend a lot of money on mental health.

The fact that US has 60 times the gun murder rate of Germany and England can not be tied just to immigration or age. There are a lot of immigrants in both country. I don't think either country has a particularly homogeneous population, although this is hard to measure.

Europe is as diverse and young a population as the US. Maybe more so. The also have children on psychotropics. Sorry but you are grasping at straws. LOL

It does not matter how many times you float this post hoc fallacy, it remains a post hoc fallacy.
