gun background checks are 100% constitutional.

but we know criminals oppose them as they keep them from buying guns at Walmart, Dicks and Gander Mountain

Criminals wouldn't buy at the above if they legally could. Too many witnesses. They tend to buy guns from people that they know, not retail stores with cameras. background checks may be legal, but they are useless in stopping crime. I can live with them, I just don't pretend that they are anything more than "doing something about crime" theater.

    No, they won't.

Only through a completely corrupted view of the Constitution.

Criminals love gun control. It makes their jobs easier.

    common sense says they will.

nothing stopping them from buying a gun at Walmart if we end background checks.

They are not going to buy guns from a place that has security cameras. It's just like a gun show. One of the worst places that you could ever buy a gun for criminal usage. Criminals, in real life not in your imagination, buy guns from people they know, not anonymous private sales, gun shows or Wal-Mart.

No, they wouldn't, but I'm willing to go along with background check "do something about crime" theater. It doesn't hurt me to do it. I just know it's useless, but it makes people like you who don't really examine the issues feel safer.

Even if such a prediction were to indeed come to pass, what sort of practical, meaningful, difference would such make overall, when these individuals can already acquire whatever firearms they wish through existing illegal channels? Does it truly make a significant difference if they can acquire the firearms in person, rather than through a straw purchase?

criminals are big fans of many of the laws you want to harass honest people with. Such as magazine limits or idiotic licensing requirements

so you are saying a federal felony conviction with 5-10 years in prison isn't sufficient?

you think that a felon with a gun is the only crime that requires prior restraint.

    why is that

I really find it specious for you to claim you speak for violent felons. WE DO KNOW that they are big fans of gun control

felons would have a field day if we ended background checks.

they'd be lining up at walmart to buy guns, ammo, magazines.

Why would they? What would be wrong with that?
You think they're planning to commit a crime with a gun?

Why would you think that? If they didn't commit a crime with a gun before, what makes you think they're so likely to commit a crime with a gun now?

I'd like to see some proof that they don't deserve rights before those rights are taken away.

What is wrong with you Ron ?

Who is ending background checks ?

Felons can't pass a background check, neither Domestic Violence or people with violent records.

Frankly, White collar non violent offenders that swindle folks out of money should not be trusted with chewing gum, or rapists or sex offenders.

Screw up and lose your gun Rights permanently, plain & simple.
    Want Gun Rights ?
    Don't commit crimes.

So who is fighting that ?

Frankly, there is no Right to enter the U.S. illegally, if there were, there would not be a Border Patrol, and I.N.S. stopping people at the Mexican border entering the U.S. , correct ?

By the way, Mexican Police work for
Bribes and Graft and Money from the Drug Cartels.
Since their Official Salary qualifies as Poverty level wages here in the U.S.

So there is no way to know if an illegal Mexican immigrant, is law abiding or a criminal or Drug Cartel employee etc......
Or even an Al-Qaida plant that has taken over a dead persons identity.

You mean like thugs playing the Knock em out game ?
Notice how thugs no longer play that game ?
After they got shot several times by folks with concealed carry, lol, Knock em out wasn't very much fun anymore after victims began to shoot back.

    I don't oppose background checks.

I am not trying to get rid of them either, I simply do not fool myelf into thinking they accomplish anything of value as far as crime prevention or crime control.

you mean they would put their names on a form that could lead to a felony conviction rather than buying a gun from the black market?

I think you are not being accurate ron.
