I don't give a rat's ass about your link, my post stands as written and the law (international and domestic) and all studies and experts on the subject agree. Your morbid and barbaric love for torture doesn't change the facts.

    A) I'm against inflicting pain that results in permanent injury.
    B) I don't consider non injurious pain to be torture.
    C) My definition is what matters to me. I don't give a rats ass about what you and a legion of "experts" think.
    D) I don't "love" inflicting pain on people to extract information. Its just a tool.

When it comes to foreign policy, Trump has no idea what he is talking. Trump was never in the military. He knows nothing about the military. He has no concept as to the effectiveness, or lack thereof, of torture and how the policy affects our own troops.

When it comes to foreign policy, it is safe to say that he has none. He has even said so. He brags that he has turned the military over to our generals. What does that mean in a literal sense? It means he is clueless when it comes to the military and he turned the whole thing over to his secretary of defense and the Pentagon.

Proof of that was his ludicrous statement at a campaign rally in Ohio on Thursday. Trump told his audience, “We’re knocking the hell out of ISIS. We’ll be coming out of Syria, like, very soon. Let the other people take care of it now.”

Once again, the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces made a complete fool of himself. The Pentagon has no intention of withdrawing from Syria. Several US defense officials have asserted that the Pentagon has not heard any additional details from the White House since the President's remarks -- adding that the policy hasn't changed and that they are continuing to focus on their fight against ISIS.

This was not a policy statement. It was a statement made for the sole purpose of garnering cheers and adoration, which it did.

So, when it comes to torture or anything else having to do with policy, foreign or domestic, there is no reason to believe anything Trump says.

I read that Trump supports the execution of kindergarteners.

    Wow. He's mean.

The debate hinges on values. Does torture conform to American values? Do the ends justify the means? Most Americans say no, torture does not conform to American values. Trump and some of his supporters think differently.

Another reason why Trump does not represent Americans very well.

Yes, I would suppose that people living during the Middle Ages might also have seen some value in torture. It is my mistake. I should have made it clear that I was speaking in terms of the 21st Century.

Here's some background information about the US Senate Select Committee on Intelligence's report on the CIA and its detention and interrogation program.

    Among the report's conclusions:
-- "The use of the CIA's enhanced interrogation techniques was not an effective means of obtaining accurate information or gaining detainee cooperation."

Twice I have answered you with lists of things that Trump has done and why I have supported him and I never heard another word from you. Your not alone though. Other Trump haters on here have ignored answering me back when they have been confronted with the truth.
When did you get interested in the issues? I thought you were only interested in "Stormy Daniels", Melania and her nude photo spread and Trumps use of cuss words.

I bow to no one on this or any forum in my total and uncompromising hatred of what the Bush Administration did with respect to torture and extraordinary rendition. I don't 'debate' torture. I won't 'debate' torture. We should not have to in this country. I don't give a crap about lies on Iraq and its weapons, this was the right reason to impeach President Bush and Cheney !

There was never any reason to impeach either President Bush or Vice President Cheney. I'm very happy to see them both living happily, wealthily and well to this day

All civilized human beings know that torture does not work.

If the president authorizes the procedures, then those are crimes against humanity.

When he leaves office, he should be arrested and sent to the Hague.

First of all, I did answer you. I told you I wasn't going to address the 80-item list you got off a conservative website that you presented. I didn't criticize your list. I just said I would not deal with it..

Secondly, that isn't the issue in the post you responded to. I said, "The vast majority of Trump fans do not want to talk about issues related to Trump. For example, Trump's tariffs and the impending trade wars with China and Japan. They don't want to talk about Trump and Kim and the North Korean issue and how Trump is handling it. They wish to avoid the 45% turnover rate at the White House and Trump's controversial appointments. They would rather not talk about Trump running the White House like an autocrat and his fear of reporters and his failure to conduct a regular press conference, the kind Sarah holds every week."

    That statement is true.

Well, Trump did it again. This is becoming a daily occurrence. He started a another controversy.

“Until we can have a wall and proper security, we are going to be guarding our border with the military. That's a big step,” Trump told reporters at the White House.

Defense Secretary James Mattis was sitting next to Trump when he made his comments. So far, Mattis has said nothing about the issue. But, then, Mattis hasn't said anything lately. Trump is doing all the talking. Mattis still has had no opinion on Trump talking to Kim or Trump's failure to impose the Russian sanctions contained in the bill he signed in August.

Will this simply be another example of Mattis and the Pentagon simply ignoring Trump's comments just as they did with the transgender issue, Trump's fiery comments directed at North Korea (fire and fury), and his ludicrous statement made at a campaign rally about withdrawing from Syria?

Mattis and the Pentagon have learned not to believe anything this President says. They simply quietly ignore him.

I totally agree with you. In fact, I wrote Op/Eds for a newspaper and news website on the matter. Bush and Cheney should have been impeached, but Pelosi wanted to "look forward, not backward." A coward's excuse for doing nothing.

No, I will not get embroiled in a discussion of this issue. My main focus is the current President, not the one a decade ago.

I'm a very simple person. I think there are bad people in the world. Kill ten bad people and the world is ten people better off.

If you can let them live and still obtain the needed results that is good of course.

    No crimes against humanity here.

Speaking of indulgences, Trump continues to indulge.

Trump's tactics include diversion, even if he looks like a fool in carrying out his diversionary tactics. As a matter of fact that is even better. When the media is talking about what an idiot he is, they are not talking about the Mueller investigation.

So it is then that he is ignoring the anguish he is causing on Wall Street and the American people in general via the trade wars he started. A great deal of attention is given to the tremendous amount of stupidity that went into his medieval tariff policy.

In his speech to reporters today he doubled down on the trade war with China, announced he was sending troops to our southern border, complained about our immigration laws, warned us about the "caravan" of refugees coming up from Honduras that was stopped a thousand miles from our border by Mexican authorities, and bemoaning NAFTA, a lucrative trade agreement for the farmers that voted for him.

Really, how stupid can you get?

He wasn't through making a fool of himself. Next up, he continued his lies about Amazon. "They said $1.47, I believe, or about that for every time they deliver a package, the United States government, meaning the post offices, lose $1.47. That’s not fair to the United States. It’s not fair to our taxpayers and Amazon has the money to pay the fair rate at the post office," Trump said.

Any sixth grader worth his salt knows that taxpayers do not pay one dime to the post office.

He still wasn't through. He proceeded to look like an idiot with his conflicting comments about Russia.

"We did 60. Probably nobody's been tougher on Russia than Donald Trump." :roflol:

"I think I could have a very good relationship with Russia and with President Putin. And if I did that would be a great thing." :rock_slayer:

"And there is a lot a great possibility that that won't happen. Who knows." :wtf:

    See, it's working.

I was just joking. I would be satisfied with impeachment and a Senate trial. Mueller continues to gather evidence. Maybe a report this summer just before the November elections.
