Trump suggested that his nominee for the VA should not continue to run. He tossed him under the bus by refusing to defend the allegations. Accept that opinion or disagree with it, I don't care. But you don't get to accuse other PF members of lying.
No spin. Anyway, this thread is really about Trump's incompetence in appointing people to key roles. The fact that these allegations against Jackson are coming out now and not before Trump named him reflects badly on Trump. He didn't vet Jackson. Or insist that his team vet Jackson properly. The fact that Trump is throwing Jackson under the bus before he even gets to a nomination hearing is one more piece of evidence showing Trump's incompetence as president.
You do the man no favors by focusing on his qualifications to run the VA. The man is a doctor and worked for the military. That's the long and short of his qualifications. The VA is a massive organization and he has zero experience, to my knowledge, being an administrator - let alone an administrator of a large organization.
Yes this all up dug up from 2012.. it does say alot about the timing its more smearing from the left pissed off this guy did not sign off one of of there attempts to remove Trump from the Whitehouse. Shall i dig up the "They spelled his name wrong!!!" conspiracy threads for you?
Yeah, the President is disgusted by the personal savaging of Jackson. Please explain how that is "throwing him under the bus"...again.
Please cite the vastly superior, "acceptable qualifications" of the last three VA directors, ALL OF WHOM screwed over the vets, wasted BILLIONS, and failed miserably.
How do you know he wasn't? Are you suggesting that a doctor who has been a Presidential doctor since the last Bush, apparently has great performance reviews by Bush, Obama and Trump, hasn't been properly vetted? What I've been reading is that it's a personal issue between him and some other guy he used to work with that is spreading rumors.
Several Senate critters directly and through anonymous leaks were smearing a doctor's professional reputation. The 'sources' were stating as if it were adjudicated fact that Admiral Jackson MD was abusing drugs, handing them out like party favors and wobbling through the halls of the Whitehouse drunk stoned and angry. Some professions cannot recover from this type of nationally voiced innuendo, it can be career ending. Admiral Jackson as a medical practitioner has many many more years productive years ahead. A political smear can effect his ability to effectively practice. We're talking thousands and thousands of lives negatively impacted. The Admiral is arguably at the pinnacle of his military career. He's in his 24th year, eligible now for retirement. Still relatively young, 52? Admiral Jackson is an O-7 and has just attained that rank, he has just under 6 years to be selected for O-8 (30 years commissioned service). Now as a health professional offficer he could, at the request of the Secretary, remain until age 68, but mandatory retirement is 64 for his grade and health professional status. It's my feeling that Admiral Jackson will choose separation from the Navy as soon as his current assignment concludes. Appointment to Secretary of Veterans Affairs would require Admiral Jackson resign his commission, so the decision to move on has been made IMO. My point, Trump gave Admiral Jackson an honorable path to withdraw and keep his personal integrity intact. The man has a wife, three children and a future, let him have it. If there was any reckless bus driving it was a congressional operator at the wheel.
SNIP The WHOLE QUOTE: He acknowledged that "there's an experience problem, because of lack of experience," but said the VA was so massive that even the head of the country's largest hospital chain wouldn’t have experience on that scale. SNIP SNIP Please cite the vastly superior, "acceptable qualifications" of the last three VA directors, ALL OF WHOM screwed over the vets, wasted BILLIONS, and failed miserably.SNIP SNIP Der... SNIP
I feel sorry for the guy now. He had a great gig. He was White House physician. He could do the photo opps and leave the real work to staff. He had a nice title, a great gig, and could coast comfortably to retirement and then double dip as a spokesman for some big pharma company. And then along came the Clown Prince. Jackson sucks up to Trump to a degree that has most of the nation laughing at him (Jackson knew he has an audience of one). So, the Fool in the Oval Office nominates him to head one of the biggest agencies in the Federal government Granted, Jackson isn't smart enough to politely refuse right away (he probably didn't know he was being nominated until he saw it on TV. That wouldn't be the first time with these bozos.) Then Trump publicly leaves him hanging just as he's about to go on the hot seat. And when this all falls apart, the Navy will hang him because he made the service look bad. Once again, Trump incompetence and mismanagement leaving a trail of collateral damage......
I don't care.... I don't know if they are warranted or not... I'm willing to believe Jackson is a good person and doctor.... no reason to believe otherwise at this point. I understand from various sources that Jackson was going to have an uphill battle on qualifications before any allegations were mentioned. This thread is about what Trump said about him and the confirmation process (which has been postponed) yesterday...
Apparently you didn't understand what he actually said, which was that anyone would have a hard time running something so large.
Please quote the President citing those allegations against Jackson...or are you confused about the subject?
No, Trump hung him out to dry. Trump never vetted the guy, and didn't even interview him. Now that it's blowing up in his face, he tells Jackson he's on his own, and is trying to walk away from responsibility for creating the mess. If Jackson even goes through with the hearings tomorrow, there is virtually zero chance that he will even get a vote. Which means that yet another large federal agency will be run by "acting" staff. (not a first for Trumpworld). This is a shining example of Trump's incompetence.
Please point out where the President is "hanging Jackson out to dry"...as opposed to what he ACTUALLY SAID: He said no such thing. Why keep lying? The President said THIS: Pres.Trump repeatedly said the choice to withdraw was Navy Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson’s, but he also questioned why he would want to go forward and take the "abuse" from politicians. “It’s totally his decision, he’ll be making a decision,” Trump said when asked about the nomination of Jackson, who is the White House physician to the president. The president said he told Jackson “this is a vicious group of people that malign. What do you need this for? … You’re too fine a person.” adding. "If I were him, I wouldn't do it,” Trump said. FOR THE FOURTH TIME, please explain how that = "throwing Jackson under the bus".
Not a lie. At best, it is an opinion with which you disagree. Rational people will look at the President's statements as tossing Jackson under the bus by refusing to defend him against the allegations, claiming that he doesn't have the experience, and saying that he did not think Jackson should continue with the nomination process given that he does not need the grief and that Trump himself would not undergo the review process if he was in Johnson shoes.
"Granted, Jackson isn't smart enough to politely refuse right away (he probably didn't know he was being nominated until he saw it on TV. That wouldn't be the first time with these bozos.)" From the tolerant left... RESIST ( yes you need to be resisted)
