Just to update on this, things seem to be calming down and he now is concerned about how sex abuse survivors can get justice. I think the fact that Ford's story is falling apart helped take the wind out his sails.

To my way of thinking, an independent will vote for Democrats. i can't recall any of my friends saying they would do that. As to Libertarians, one reason why I am a Republican is me and my friends think along that same path as they do. I tend to agree with them.

I have one very close friend that is a hardcore Republican. Friendship goes deeper than that as far as I am concerned. However I never pass up a chance to give him a hard time about Trump and I will tell him what a sissy frat boy Kavanaugh is the next time I see him. He was a fairly clear thinking lad when we were in high school but he got hired by Lockheed when he was in his mid 20s. In his workplace, first as a machinist, then as a planner at Skunkworks he admitted that they listened to Rush every day in the early years then to the bevy of Rush wannabes for 40 hrs a week. That must have rotted his brain. He has been retired for three years now and he seems to be regaining some of his faculties sans the overpowering hateful blather every weekday. He does at least admit that Trump is a real horses ass.

They deserve Justice. But what I find very strange is how angry Democrat were with the women that accused Bill Clinton and the stinking names they called those women. We have refrained from calling women bad names due to them accusing Trump. Funny how that works. The terrible things Monica Lewinski was called still amazes me. And the women Clinton raped, they still get called lousy names by Democrats.

Few of us will listen to Trump and not claim he has an abrasive way of talking about others. I personally did not vote for him over his silver tongue, but what he can do. He seemed to me like the man who would try to reform Government and so far he has. So long as his acts get what I want done, he can talk trash for all I care.

I could get along with Democrats if they quit the name calling and trying to act as if Trump is the enemy.

While in high school and college i was hardcore conservative values; then I graduated and went out into the real world and it was an eye opener for me. Most of my values changed after seeing people get screwed in the work place, ripped off by big business, die because they couldn't afford medical insurance, etc. They say that life is the best teacher in the world and they are right!

Well the Kavanaugh-Ford story wasn't ever really about abuse survivors finding justice, since Ford never filed charges. That's simply a talking point to glide down from this cliff the left has talked itself into before the story became untenable and the likelihood of Kavanaugh's confirmation increased. And of course, they have no interest in rape survivor Juanita Broaddrick getting justice.

I’m pretty conservative, but I have friends who are not. I just don’t discuss politics with them.

Assume, if you are capable, that Kavanaugh is innocent. Now try to imagine him looking at his children and trying to explain why people like you want to ruin him. Then maybe, just maybe, you can imagine the emotion he displayed.

You are correct; there are two things which divide men in this world; politics and religion.

There are political discussions and there are political discussions. The argument that "Trump's tax policy will worsen (or improve) the country's financial health" is a political discussion that friends can have.

I cannot imagine keeping a friend calling me a Nazi sympathizer or fascist or racist for voting for Trump (which I didn't even do, but you get the point).

The second argument is the more common one now. People who say these things are indirectly insulting their "friends" of a different political outlook, and it's an important insult. "This is the worst omelette I ever had. Dude, you can't cook" is an insult I would endure from a friend. Insinuating that I am a racist is grounds for divorce.

I am not sure if he is guilty of the accusations however that does not change the fact that he acted like a pansy ass at the hearing. Hillary Clinton was grilled by a rabid pack of jackals for 10 hours and was accused of far worse crimes than Kavanaugh was. Compared to those guys, the Democratic Senators treated him with kid gloves. Clinton kept her cool and answered the questions respectfully. Kavanaugh was acting like a snotty prep school brat at 54 years old. If I had ever seen my old man act like that, I would have been ashamed, but he never would.

Speak about politics in front of friends, or worse - friends of friends, and lose your job, your clients, and your reputation. Take that as advice and keep safe.

Are they married to leftist women? I'm convinced that's what happened to Comey and McCabe.

    Good guess.

He was an accomplished football player on offense and defense, plus a top scholar, and so I am surprised to know he is a "pansy ass," which I thought Dems considered a homophobic slur.

Moreover, the Benghazi hearing (calling them rabid jackals further diminishes your argument -- name calling is a juvenile tactic) involved these questions:

{opening statement by Chairman] Why were there so many requests for more security personnel and equipment, and why were those requests denied in Washington? Why did the State Department compound and facility not even come close to meeting proper security specifications? What policies were we pursuing in Libya that required a physical presence in spite of the escalating violence?

Who in Washington was aware of the escalating violence? What precautions, if any, were taken on the anniversary of 9/11? What happened in Washington after the first attack? And what was our response to that attack?

What did the military do or not do? What did our leaders in Washington do or not do, and when? Why was the American public given such divergent accounts of what caused these attacks, and why is it so hard to get information from the very government these four men represented, served and sacrificed for ...?

Madam Secretary, I understand there are people frankly in both parties who have suggested that this investigation is about you. Let me assure you it is not. And let me assure you why it is not. This investigation is about four people who were killed representing our country on foreign soil.

As we see, there was no attack on Clinton's morality, or personal integrity, or even her personal action. And the alleged inaction by her had occurred 3 years prior to the hearing. Judge Kavanaugh was being asked to prove that he did not commit attempted rape 35 years ago.

And so, the comparison with the Benghazi hearing is as ridiculous as ... oh, say, the affidavit of Julie Swetnick or Professor's Ford fear of flying.

Those are really the only people who think socialism is a good thing.

No one with a job thinks handing over 50% of their earnings is a good thing.

I played football and have experience playing against some preppie rich boy schools. Whenever we would start whooping their asses, it seemed as if many of their big tough talking guys would turn into whimpering ninnies like Kavanaugh did last Thursday. I know that look and that sound of them crying to the refs.

I watched the last of the years of Benghazi hearings which were done strictly as a political ploy to "bring down Clinton's numbers in anticipation of her being the candidate in 2016", in the words of House Majority leader Kevin McCarthy. Their opening statement was a bunch of crap. They were brutal on her and tried to bait her for 10 hours. She remained calm ad respectful throughout unlike Kavanaugh who was flippant, sarcastic, disrespectful and acted like a real crybaby.

And then they blamed it on an innocent man's video and threw him jail. The end.

Good, so at least you agree that Kavanaugh is a crybaby and acted like a spoiled brat. Thanks
