Yeah, you're trying the Bill Clinton defense.

You know, if you wanted to be clear, you could always link to exactly what you're talking about.

    I'll help you out.

So this is your example of PF members defending that particular cop shooting that particular guy in the back?

    Got any other "good" examples?

All I see are questions in his post.

I am glad you educated yourself for next time. Reminds me of the group that got tricked into arguing to ban assault clips.

That was my question to you.

All you got is cheap insults. I am not ducking; just pointing out that your "solution" was weaker than the laws already in place where this tragedy occurred. Are you suggesting we expand what didn't work?

So where are these people who want violent felons to legally purchase firearms? I have never met an "unrestricted gun access" advocate.

This was also in CA. The gun store employee reported the suspicious purchase to the authorities. This was during the bullet button law.

Such as motor vehicles, like the one used in the city of Nice in the nation of France?

And yet they are still available for ownership to anyone who has the money. More than that, new production grenades, grenade launchers, and even rocket propelled grenades, can still be purchased by the general public if the proper paperwork is in order.

Then cite the law. Show the legal precedent, not simply for firearms, but for any and all constitutional rights where registration is a requirement for the right to be exercised in a lawful manner.

Until such time the united state supreme court rules such, these registrations are not constitutional. They are merely presumptively lawful at the moment.

That exists exclusively for the purpose of taxation, not for matters of safety. Every time a fully-automatic firearm is transferred to a new owner, the federal government is paid a tax of two hundred dollars. They do not care who the firearm goes to just so long as they collect the tax for the transfer.

Except it is quite pertinent. What if the government refuses to allow the registration to occur, thus stating by default that an individual cannot legally exercise their constitutional rights? It was already done once by the district of columbia for over thirty years, so it is not a development that is unheard of.

What, you mean the only answer being to shoot him in the back 8 times because you don't know if he was unarmed. So clearly you agree with shooting a fleeing suspect in the back just in case the suspect is armed

    No.

These are all valid questions leading back to @Bluesguy 's original question:

What you DO NOT have, in any of these threads about this person getting shot, are people saying that (once all the facts were known in this particular case) he made the correct decision in shooting him.

What you have are "in general" types of questions about the case, that simply highlight the complexities involved in apprehending and/or shooting a fleeing suspect.

    That's all you have here.

Though info hasn't been officially released by LE, from interviews from those who were there, the shooter a Marine Corps veteran (Corporal E-4) machine gun section leader who did at least one combat tour of duty in Afghanistan...witnesses said the shooter looked professionaland knew what he was doing.

Unlike most other mass shooters who fired multi rounds into a beaten zone hoping to hit something. The shooter Long has a extremely high kill rate. 12 hits with 11 dead and one wounded.

The 24 reported injuries all occurred while trying to escape from the Borderline Bar and Grill. None were wounded by a pistol round except for the one who was wounded by the shooter.

Obvious Long had some combat pistol marksmanship training while serving in the Corps, making all hits every time he fired his pistol.

Long also chose the man stopper, the .pistol chambered for the 45 ACP.

Unlike pea shooters that are chambered for the 9mm parabellum and require multi shots and hits to kill, one or two .45 ACP rounds gets the job done.
A six shot .357 magnum revolver can accomplish the same thing as a .45 pistol.

So what needs to be answered., what caused Long to snap ?

This mass shooting happened less than 24 hours after the midterm elections in California. Prop. 6 was defeated by low information voters and another liberal loon was again elected as Governor.

Yeah but that doesn't explain his target. Why would he go after a block of voters that are the most conservative in the state?

Leftist gun-grabber Chris Cuomo: 'saying "thoughts and prayers" mocks the victims...'

Leftist gun-grabber Chris Matthews: “Thoughts and prayers … I’m sorry, but that should be outlawed...”

Thousand Oaks shooter: “I hope people call me insane… (laughing emojis).. wouldn’t that just be a big ball of irony? Yeah.. I’m insane, but the only thing you people do after these shootings is ‘hopes and prayers’.. or ‘keep you in my thoughts’… every time… and wonder why these keep happening…”

yep, ladies and gentlemen, I'm calling it... we have an insane leftist gun-grabber making his final statement by shooting up 'redneck gun-humpers' in a bar on "country" (read: "redneck gun-humper") night.

You were used as an example of "someone who defended the police officer that shot the guy in the back".

I linked directly to your old quote because the person who was using it against you didn't want you to notice.

    Strict registrations.

This means that you have to register every firearm you purchase with ATF/FBI and every local law enforcement services. To sell a gun, both the seller and the buyer must go to a government office and transfer the ownership, just like we do for cars here. Once per years owner must renew their registrations for every weapons they own. The owner is also responsible to securely store is weapons. Failure to do so resulting in theft would be considered criminal negligence. If an owner transfer, sells or trade a weapon without going through the process and said weapon is later used in a crime, that person will be considered an accomplice in said crime at worst and criminal negligence at best.

Authorities can at anytime ask for a mental health evaluation at the time of renewing registration, just like the office responsible for delivering driver permits and car registration can ask for a medical evaluation before renewing/issuing a license.

    How will this prevent anything?
CA already requires the registration of firearms -- why did that not stop this shooting?
This violates the Constitution, and has done so since 2008.
Only if you change the definition of "accomplice", which requires that the accused know about the crime.
Wow. Its almost as if you've never heard of due process.

The bar was full of college students and even though the two colleges in the area are somewhat conservative like Pepperdine, the students are more than likely millennial snowflakes who have been indoctrinated during their entire lives in cultural marxism.

Except for Paddock in Las Vegas who did target a country rock event full of Trump supporters and the Islamist jihadist terrorist attack at the gay bar in Florida, all of the other mass shooters have been millennials.

The last mass shooting when the shooter had such a high hit and kill rate was Charles Whitman another Marine veteran, the Texas University tower mass shooting back in 1966. 41 hits with 17 kills most from hundreds of yards away using bolt action hunting rifles.

But we know what caused Charles Whitman to snap, he had a huge brain tumor in his brain housing group.

But before the tumor was found during the autopsie, the media was blaming that Whitman was a veteran.

I'm sort of confused as to why a marine was using a pistol rather than a rifle in addition to his target not making sense if he's upset at liberals.

Pistols are for close quarters combat.

(During the Battle of Hue, the weapons of choice by U.S. Marines was the .45 ACP Thompson submachine gun and the 12 ga. shotgun and the ONTOS as a backup.)
    USMC M-50 ONTOS

Infantry rifles when in the hands of a rifleman (grunt) are for killing the enemy with one shot, one kill out to 500 yards and beyond.

What are known as assault rifles like the AK-47 are used by sending a large volume of fire into the "beaten zone" hoping you'll get a hit.
    Basically you are point aiming.

    Totalitarianism soon follows.
Call it Nazi gun registration or Marxist gun registration, no difference.

Submachine guns are long arms, especially something like a thompson. That would make sense. Here he just used a glock.
I suppose it would make sense if he was going to walk in and hang out first, but he apparently just kicked the door in and started shooting.

I'm not a Marine but I know several and they were all perplexed as to why a pistol was used. Pistols are for getting to your rifle.

Pistols are a last resort weapon unless you're a tunnel rat and a .45 ACP M-1911 A1 is the weapon of choice.

If an "Old Corps" Marine who was old schooled, more than likely if he wanted to committee a mass shooting his weapon of choice would be a rifle that can reach out 1,000 yards and touch someone using open iron sights. The Springfield 1903- rifle. One shot...one kill.
