ISIS is merely one cog in a vast machine. We know so little. Or maybe we're in denial, I'm not sure which it is.
Well are you not claiming misrepresentation of your comment??? Since your hatred of my comments, notably today earlier. One would have to wonder why you complain??? But of course, from this latest response we can see why. It is not the comment but the poster you have a problem with. Not my issue, but yours. But hey, I am big boy. I don’t need to be right all the time, unlike you. I admit my failings. Have always done so. I don’t hate you, I don’t even know you. BUT clearly your hatred of me sways your comment. But again, that is your problem not mine…
Well, we do ignore a lot. But it is the terrorist organisations around the world claim everything they can. I point out ISIS as it was the posters focus, but true of the Taliban and every other you can think of… IRA claimed the Hilton bombing so many years ago in Australia. But as a nation we know little specific about such groups. However, our government knows great deal more. Unfortunately the bone of contention is just how much we should, as the people, know compared to that of government and authorities. This will be argued until the moon spins into the sun, if we haven’t burnt to death before that…
Wish that I had as much faith in government and its authorities as you obviously do. I'm not quite so naive though.
Faith??? Sorry to give you the impression that I think they are capable. I have faith in the ideal of government representation not the governments we have it the moment. There are many things we don’t know about the nation we are in and the nations that oppose and support us because simply put, you need to consider all information. As I said, IRA claimed the Hilton bombing. And that is true, the problem is why would they??? Fact was that 186 terrorist organisations across the world claimed responsibility. So could you imagine how much information you need to consume, evaluate and disregard to discover the truth of all those claims??? Just imagine how long it would take by yourself??? It doesn’t matter if you agree or not about the government, the point is you need rather large group of people to consume evaluate and communicate the relevant and pertinent information to you to form your opinion and belief. The important thing is to YOU evaluate the information provided for truth and disregard the fabrication and useless. At some point you need others, at some point those others will provide you with decent information or just tainted bias. You have to decide who that is.
Perhaps if the islamic community didnt wish to boycott the meeting with Prime Minister Morrison I might be inclined to trust them. Its like anything in life, you have to win respect and trust. Every time a muslim opens his mouth, he puts his foot into it..Keysar Trad comes to mind on the Bolt Report recently. If the islamic community, their clerics, their imans, the grand mufti...if they all refuse to "dob in" their own when they become radicalized, and they are aware of such radicalization, then why should I, or anyone, give them respect and trust.
Honestly, one wants the government to defend their beliefs and way of life, yet it is niave to trust the government to do so. Not sure who is being naive here.
I don't have a problem with the governments having the information, it's them not having the nous to know what to do with it that worries me. We, the US and UK, seem to be cursed with having stupid people in our administrations.
Islamists, and middle eastern regionals generally, don't value those qualities like civilized countries do, they see them as weaknesses to be exploited.
and I couldn't agree more. I see all the time, univeristy degree.. must be smart. Thing is, we might not like who is in charge, we just have to try for the best representation to lead our nations for the best of the people NOT the government. We don't have that now.
Unfortunatly, yes. Like the nazis, the red khmers and a lot of kind of human trash. Doesn't mean I will cry on them if islamic terrorists get executed.
