Look upthread for facts. You propose to tax productivity by increasing the FICA rate. You propose to confiscate money which has been withheld for retirement benefits. You propose that increasing tax rates does not result in stealing money from wage earners. You claim that a system designed for 30 workers supporting 1 retiree and now operating on ~ 2 workers is not on a death spiral. Your proposals are all incorrect.
You say things as if they are facts, AFM, when in fact they are your opinions, nothing else. You are wrong, period.
The problem was adding replace to the promise of repeal. Moi sez, Repeal! Assign substitution to the States per the 10th Amendment . Moi Don't ize
Agreed. The states should be able to craft their own health insurance systems per the needs of their populations. This would result in 50 different systems which would be a treasure trove of data for use in continuing improvement processes for each state.
With 50 laboratories working simultaneously many good policies will be discovered. Some of these policies may indeed be great.
The ACA is still alive and the GOP Congress has been fixing and paying for its existence. My wife works at a healthcare exchange.
Agreed but the freedom caucus extended the life of ObamaCare by moronically refusing to support the Ryan-Price 3 part plan which met the reconciliation requirements and instead demanding that their policies based on their definition of perfection be substituted. Those freedom Caucus policies were impossible to pass due to the 60 vote Senate requirement. Thanks to the FC ObamaCare continues.
Yep a complete fail on the Republican side. It just proves that they were just being hypocrites and lacked the strength of their convictions.
Not sure what the other poster was thinking There is not .... and never will be a rule requiring you to have medicare. Heck, i am 70 and ther is no rule requiring medicare. But if access to affordable insurance were an issue for you, then you might want medicare Btw, unless your insurance is locked in by your job.... you likely will find the cost of your great insurance will rise as you age
The GOP had every opportunity to actually vote on and replace PPACA. They didn’t. Demonizing ACA was easier and made for better campaign rhetoric against the Democratic Party. Jmo
You are going to be always wrong, until you give us the solid evidence for your opinions, which are not facts.
Conservatives want to repeal obamacare, the RINO GOP does not. The RINO GOP establishment likes the idea of govt controlled health care and health insurance. Neither "progressive" nor RINO GOP actually cares about health care, they care about power and control. So teh GOP did not "give up" on repealing obamacare because they never wanted to repeal it, that was just an election lie.
To have accomplished one serious thing after two years of governing, tax cuts (about as easy a GOP Congressional vote getter as possible), is a wasted opportunity that may not come around again.
