Thanks to the Freedom Caucus the solid 3 part ObamaCare repeal and replace effort failed. There was no two years of governing as the Senate was lacking 60 R votes. Bills were passed in the House with the hope that they would be acceptable to a few D's but that never happened. The wasted opportunity was the ObamaCare reform under reconciliation rules which was sabotaged by the Freedom Caucus. Tax reform is not a big deal ?? You have to be kidding me. The reconciliation methodology was available for the ObamaCare reforms but again the Freedom Caucus blocked it in the House. That's just disgusting. What do you think Ryan could have accomplished without 60 Senate votes but didn't ??
No, the republicans simply don't have the bravery to put the common good above their perceived future loss of votes.
They have no answers now and they had no answers then. American healthcare was,is and will probably continue to be a mess. There are lots of systems in the developed world that work better than ours but we continue to cling to the myth that somehow the mess we currently have is free enterprise.
Here is the vid that AFM could not bring himself to post. There is a trend there. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=509245309541411
More cartoons. And they are same. The cartoon master is hard at work but with very limited material. Funny stuff.
No matter which Republican had won the Presidency, there would have been a tax cut. Bush's one big domestic accomplishment (besides saddling us with another entitlement program) was a tax cut. Where is that tax cut now? Like tears, in rain... If the Trump Presidency only accomplishes a tax cut, it's a waste. Once the Dems are back in power it will vanish in a puff of new taxes. Meanwhile, there are a ton of immigration related legislative issues that would have had long lasting impact on the nation, but since Ryan's donors opposed them, he opposed them too. And if Ryan had been in favor of, and supported, the Balanced Budget Amendment, instead flicking it away like a booger, that could have lead to long term, fiscal sanity, instead of the near certain financial doom we're heading towards. It's a fair point that the Freedom caucus gummed the works on repeal and replacing Obamacare, but you must be high if you think Ryan was trying to get 60 Senate votes on a bill that reduced Medicaid. Even though Medicaid had nothing to do with Obamacare. You think there were going to be enough Democratic senators to vote for that? Face it: Ryan sabotaged the bill from the start because he was more interested in delivering a defeat for Trump than a win for the American people. Mission accomplished.
That’s completely ridiculous. Ryan’s 3 part plan was geared to reconciliation rules. Where does all the conspiracy theory BS come from ?? There is no way a BB Amendment would have gotten anywhere. And there is no way any immigration reform would get through the Senate as well. Are you kidding ?? All ObamaCare did was increase the Medicaid rolls. ObamaCare was nothing more than an expansion of Medicaid. You claimed that you read the Ryan Roadmap ?? Try reading it again and pay attention to the sections on health insurance and Medicaid. To claim that Ryan sabotaged ObamaCare repeal and replace is incredibly stupid.
Ryan's roadmap was fantasy. It was never introduced as legislation. I don't know why you keep bring it up. Tell me instead what Ryan actually accomplished, besides his Omnibus Spending bills?
Read and then justify your preposterous claim that Ryan sabotaged The ObamaCare repeal and replace efforts. And then review how many bills died in the Senate.
That's absurd. You have not done anything of the kind except make ridiculous accusations. You have also claimed to have read the Ryan Roadmap. Have you ?? What will be the accomplishments of the Freedom Caucus ?? The perpetuation of ObamaCare. Do your homework and investigate the list of bills passed by the House which died in the Senate ?? You blame Ryan for that ?? These preposterous attacks on Ryan based on no evidence are sickening. Ryan does not control the Freedom Caucus nor the Senate.
Do your homework which includes looking back through the thread for links. All it takes in curiosity and initiative.
AFM makes assertions without evidence then demands rebuttal. Not how it works, bud. You post your assertion. You give clear, convincing evidence supporting your assertion (remember that your opinions are not facts). Then, in conclusion, you tell your audience why (you emphasize here) your thesis is so important.
I have - look for the link and arguments up thread. The major entitlements must be privatized to get the US spending under control and to provide better benefits.
My wife works for a hospital and they offer terrific coverage. Late last year through early this year I spent 4 months in the ICU. By all rights, I should probably be dead. But I'm not. $1,000,000+ bill. Our out of pocket was $200.
