What gaseous alternate universe did you grab this claim and question from?

Pelosi, in full damage control, was the one to turn to petty insult. You establishing a similar level of ability?

Hi...sorry to butt in but as a non-American I was just wondering what you thought the point of Pelosi's engagement was in this kind of pettiness? I mean bearing in mind the theatrical nature of politics at the moment I understand anything can happen, however, surely as a person (Pelosi I mean) who must know the political nuances of Washington she would have known that this sort of comment would play right into the hands of the social media narrative. Trump thrives of such comments and it seems stupid to think that engaging in this kind of pettiness would do nothing other than make a childish situation even more absurd. I mean I watched the exchange in the White House and it was just cringe worthy to think that these sort of histrionics can actually take place and be televised as being the pinninacle of intellectual political debate. It was staggering!

It takes a special kind of stupid to look at Trump admitting any shutdown was his own and requesting 1/5th of the amount of funding necessary for his wall and lying about all those immigration facts AND interrupting her 20 times and think, "oh yea, Pelosi was in damage control"

Trump's base is not enough to maintain a majority in the House. Sucks, huh?

Clearly the left does not care about border security. By not caring, they are approving of drug and human trafficking, they are encouraging cartels to push their products across the border. It's truly sad.

Gee, so you are confirming you operate from Nan's level.

So you think calling me a "special kind of stupid" helps your argument? LOL

All the President wants is $5 billion this year. And your buddies Nan and Chuck said no, shut down the government because National Security doesn't matter to us.

I'm not sure what it takes to view that admission as a win, but it must be something special indeed.

It has always been the issue, but all we keep hearing about is a wall. He is just playing to his base with that bullshit.

The border wall is not border security. It is a waste of money and it is a plan that is not supported by a majority of Americans.

A wall doesn't provide security? That's just silly. Tell that to Israel, China, the Vatican etc etc

Everyone will blame Schumer for this, Trump kicked his butt in that meeting and exposed Schumer as the wimp he really is.

Everyone is going to blame Schumer for something that Trump explicitly said that he would claim credit? That's your argument?

    LOL

And now you've called me a special kind of stupid twice. That must require you pushing way past the boundaries of your intellect.

I agree the President called Chucks bluff. Said put a shut down on him when matters like the safety of our Nations citizens are in question.

$5 billion, and Nan and Chuck don't think US Citizens are worth that investment. And you think that goes down well?

Did you happen to catch the headline that the number of illegal aliens caught at the border hit a multi-year high last month?

And that was just the one's who were caught.

Not only will the US border wall not provide any additional security, it will cost 25$ billion to build - initially - and 25$ billion every seven years after that to maintain. It will also deprive US citizens of their land and it will be a huge ecological disaster.

Trump claimed credit and here you and bucky are, less than 24 hours later, trying to pass the buck.

It is Trump's demand to spend money on a wall that will not work and is not supported by a majority of Americans. It is Trump's shutdown.

Repeating the same factually incorrect statement over and over again with thousands of years of wall building flying in the face of your claim doesn't help you.

How much are you willing to pay for border security this year?

    How so?

The President made it very clear a shut down would be on him if Border Security/National Security funding of $5 billion was not in any bill sent to him.

The House will pass such a bill, the votes are there, but there apparently needs to be 10 Dems in the Senate to agree, and it appears Chuck, along with Nan, aren't interested in making that happen for the citizens of this country.
