Trump claims he can circumvent Congress by getting the military to build the wall. But there’s not a lot of room to maneuver without money. Whether it’s the military, a private contractor or anyone else building the wall, funding would be necessary. The constitution says, “no money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in consequence of appropriations made by law.” Congress and the president must both approve appropriations.

As a matter of fact most of his statements were BS.

I'm sure you could, and would, argue about who owned whom until you're blue in the face. Each can take from that meeting what they will.

I saw Trump own a possible government shutdown for the sake of a wall that he promised repeatedly would be paid for by Mexico.

 

"Mexico will pay for it."

 

So far they haven't. And 40% of the illegals in the US don't even come across the Mexican border and of the remaining 60% many do not cross illegally. So my guess is even if Trump managed to build a perfectly effective wall probably stop much less that 50% of the illegal immigration. And the chances of a partial fence be 100% effectine is absolutly nil.

And the wall will do nothing whatsoever to stop illegal drugs.

 

it is a waste of money. drones and a rapid response team is all that is needed.

And then, both Pelosi and Schumer after the fact.....running to the cameras talking about Trump was having a temper tantrum.

Lastly there is that difficulty the left has with discerning reality.
