Your interpretation of US news is astoundingly incorrect. For example YOU added to what the article said by adding "such as the .223 calibre and 5.56 caliber." You don't have a clue that that .223 and .556 NATO ammunition is often interchangeable RIFLE (not handgun) caliber ammunition. Walmart stores that sell rifles will still carry .223 Remington and .556 NATO ammunition. Very few Walmart stores anywhere still sell handguns at all so that small tidbit of news is of little to NO consequence. What Walmart does or does not do in the US should be of no consequence to anyone except radical socialists in Australia who wish to meddle in US affairs and peddle lies. Fortunately you do not represent the majority of Australians.
Nope, they asked people not to OPEN carry and by asking I will answer in the negative and continue as always. I ignore store policies that infringe on my rights to self defense. If they insist I will conceal but I will never be disarmed by over reactionary morons from either the corporate world or from the left.
That’s not actually true, as someone that holds a CCW permit we have to be very observant of laws. People are becoming more and more terrified of people with weapons so we have to know where and what our rights are. In all states besides the list below, a place of business that has a no weapons allowed sign means you are not welcome, thus immediate trespassing. They do not have to remind you first. It’s a misdemeanor offense and is somewhat up to the discretion of the responding officers but could still cause issues. In some states (Alabama Alaska Arizona Illinois Mississippi Minnesota Kansas Kentucky Nebraska New Mexico North Carolina Ohio Oklahoma South Carolina Tennessee Texas Utah Virginia Wisconsin) these signs carry “force of law”. Meaning it is illegal to bring a weapon into the premises. Penalties go from class B misdemeanor charges with a fine all the way up to a felony offense. Know the rules where you live and where you visit
I have a flashback to something my Father said once in regards to the AWB in 94" that I feel has relevance here. What is the difference in getting killed with a gun and getting killed by a claw hammer or a knife. Dead is dead.
I never said they did. Until the signs go up that specifically state the required legal verbiage of “no firearms allowed” with the pursuant regulations and codes it is a request that has no weight. I was speaking in broad terms directly to another poster
A murderer at El Paaso Walmart store shot loads of people and not one of the gun carriers stopped him - they just ran like everyone else
they are for dam sure, this will bring business into their shops. Personally I've always found my LGS overpriced on ammo, but fair on firearms and accessories, so I've bought very very little ammo locally for many years since I discovered midway and grabagun, both have very competitive pricing and excellent specials every week with flat rate shipping, so I just buy in bulk, its easier and cheaper.
I never claimed you did That doesn't mean citizens saving the day doesn't happen. The stores security people didn't stop him either. Because it didn't happen in this case is not an indictment against CC, except to a lefty.
No I don't, but I ignore these signs and conceal if I HAVE to use a place that's posted. Have done it numerous times. That's why it's called conceal. IF, and that's a big if, it's posted properly, (ie. meets legal requirements) then I conceal and what no one knows, no one knows but me. If these corporations are thinking they make anyone safe they are fooling themselves and/or virtue signaling. All they are doing is creating a target rich environment for an active shooter because buy definition they will not obey laws to begin with. It is already against the law to murder people and we see how well that stops them. This is all safety by kabuki theater and does nothing but create false hopes and impressions. If a corporation bans guns from their property, and I obey their signs and disarm, then said corporation should be held liable if me or mine are wounded or worse by an active shooter.
