How about this: There is a rigorous screening, mental and physical, of every recruit into the US military. Why not apply those same screenings to a potential gun purchaser? The US government, and the DOD, have developed these tests, and they are generally accepted as accurate in determining a potential recruit's ability to serve. I believe that these same criteria should be applied to every American seeking to own a firearm.

A few years back I went to a gun show near Memphis. My friends, who were carrying, had to check their weapons at the door. They did so without hesitation or complaint. Who knew reactionary corporate left wing morons run gun shows in deep red states. You learn something new every day.

it's an invasion of privacy to exercise a right. Imagine if they made a law saying you had to go through these sorts of things to be a journalist or to be part of the Union. it would be unacceptable because being a part of the union or journalist is your right.
