B: The US government, the IMF and other western governments wanted the prosecutor fired because he wasn't investigating the big boys including the company Jr worked for. The prosecutor was overwhelmingly fired by a vote of the Ukrainian parliament for the same reason. If Sr had wanted to protect his son's interests he would have insisted that that prosecutor remain in his position.
As the loan guarantor the US and others supporting the fledgling new government had every responsibility to insist that Ukraine get their corruption under control and this prosecutor was notably not doing his job.

A simple perusal of fact checkers would give you this info. What is apparent is that Trump wants to use the Ukrainian government to create a suspicion around an opponent just as congress spent over a $100 million to investigate Hillary to put a cloud over her throughout the election. It doesn't matter if anything of substance is found what matters is the openings for talking points.
